The Loctite will work great on the wrap and vane combination. I'm sure there are guys that try and replace a vane at a time but I always redo the entire fletching - new wrap and vanes. I try an align the seam with the spine of the arrow, but have not really ever seen a dramatic impact either way.
I would say physics supports that the sum of the system determines the flight of the arrow(s) when only the tip is varied. If the point drag coefficient does not produce a "significant" force relative to the other forces acting on the arrow, the POI differences will be minimized (NOT ABSOLUTE...
Well that's a bummer. Would have liked to have seen a good shooter record some tests.
As I have always said, there is no doubt in my mind that both camps are right here. The data can be accurate but the overall cause is a function of the total system not the "straw that broke the camels back"...
Shane - I look forward to the videos. I've had similar experiences with regards to broadhead flight out to my limits.. Might be interesting, if possible, to demonstrate the field point to broadhead groups before and after bare shaft tuning (same arrows - same bow).
RosinBag - When you say POI...
Let me try to be clear, because I often am not. The tuning of ones bow is an effort to balance forces throughout the flight of the arrow. The finer forces induced by the selected point (target, broadhead) at launch are tuned out, as much as possible, to use the least amount of blunt force vane...
Okay, so I looked at the OP's chrono data and all the "real world experience" posts; I am wondering why both sides of the argument can't be right here.
Clearly the data shows a dramatic drop in arrow velocity at greater distance with the introduction of the broadheads. But it would seem to me...
The ballot initiative is what established the current protection programs, however, it was Governor Ronald Regan (yep, that guy) and a Republican held state legislature that originally band sport hunting of mountain lions in 1971 (enacted 1972 season). The 5-year ban was reinstated 2 additional...
PHo you may be beating your head against a wall on this one. I have used the system you are talking about for several years and it never fails when applied correctly. I have actually, brought 3D targets to the range to prove the concept to many disbelievers. Just some guys are not comfortable...
Interesting perspective on Arizona non-resident licensing fees. I always see my license fees as a cheap way to get an OTC deer tag that is generally good for the majority of Arizona for either WT or Mule deer (3 hunts no less - if I don't tag out early), a javelina tag for the same zone as my...
Completely agree. Cannot understand a company that brands themselves as western style hunting gear specialist has not addressed the strap issue. Remove your binos and either loose the straps down your back or have the bino bucket flopping around. There is a fix in the DIY section of Rokslide...
I know you asked about a seat, but I have found a Hunt Comfort GelCore to be the best thing since sliced bread. Strap it to the bottom of the pack and be assured you can place it on any ground - regardless of angle or texture. I've used this pad from the Sierras to the deserts of Arizona.
Hunt...
No response from NDD-NPL but a little more research appears to show the origin of the "Fake" ad (AP FACT CHECK: Claim that voters lose hunting licenses false - ABC News). My read is that some campaign genius came up with the idea of conflating the loss of a resident hunters license when one...
After some additional research, I was able to find the following (Live updates: Countdown to the 2018 midterms - CNNPolitics) regarding political advertisements on Facebook. I neither endorse or refute the sources for this information, however, I was able to verify with the two subject Senators...
As I have not been able to find any mention of this issue in any major publication, I contacted the North Dakota Democratic - NPL via email for clarification as to the posting on Facebook. I will post their reply once I receive a response.
X2...I shoot Hoyt and cannot rationalize getting rid of my Nitrum 34 for one of the new Ultra models. Of course, I'm going to go shoot one to see if there is really any significant differences besides minor specification changes.
And that Katera is still a great bow if you have the guns to...
Assuming you already shoot an average to heavy weight arrow (>400 grains), I find with all of my Hoyts cam timing is everything for noise control. After that I place a small set of cat whiskers (1-1.5 inch diameter) on the string between the speed nocks and a single SIMS string leach into the...
While the natural reaction is to get defensive, this is a perfect opportunity to speak to those not in the hunting community and actually offer to show them what hunting is all about. Everyone in my office knows they have an open invitation to go into the field whenever they want to learn more...
Some really good advice above. Do a google search on some of the well known archers (target and hunters) and look at their form - specifically their shoulders and draw elbow. As you can see in your photo, that back elbow and shoulder are pretty high due to the high anchor point. This places the...
