I finally bit the bullet and bought a new pair of SLC HD 10x42. First pair of alpha glass and a life long investment is how I see it, exspecially with Swaro warrenty. I’m happy with my purchase and glass like that doesn’t wear out.
I don't know if the new SLC HD model is significantly better than the NEU non hd SLC but if you can find a good deal on either thats what would base my decision. I found a good deal on the SLC HD model and so thats what I just bought, I should receive them this week.

I had the Cronus 8.5x42 for a couple months last summer. Glass is very good but build quality matches the $500 price tag. Over all I was happy with them but I sold them because they didn't fit my face.
Also, does this model have field flatten lens? I felt sea sick when I was done messing with them and I don't know if it was that or just the fact that they wouldn't focus.
