More is always better, it’s more info to process. Is 2 eyes bettter than one sort of thing. 28 degrees is huge in a rifle scope, it’s next gen and actual innovation compared to anything currently offered as far as I know.
Got one on order now.
Rifle scopes should all list the fov of the...
As NIB, unmounted, Zeiss Victory FL illuminated mil-dot ret.$1700 shipped and and I’ll split insurance. PM me with any questions or if interested, thanks.
I thick in the 42 version there’s many that’s as good, my old Zeiss fl’s in 10x42 still have the best ca of any new model I’ve used and equal resolution of almost any I’ve used. The 50mm el’s are the stand out for me, and imo they’re the best I’ve had, that includes NL’s, Leica hd plus and...
Yeah the ak thing seems a bit like how they went away from Porros years back. And you’re right, Swaro barely mentions, much less promotes the ak design in their 56 series, kinda like benielli with their inertia design and being the end all be all, yet their best or most tested shotgun , the m4...
I’ve had most of the ones listed except the 10x56’s slc’s. The NL’s had a bigger fov than the 50 el’s, but for me the 50mm el’s, 10 and 12, were both more transparent than the 10/12 NL’s, also more forgivinb, had a not better dof so I sold the NL’s after a while. Went back and forth on the 10...
One of the best high power glasses I’ve used is the big Zeiss 15x60 porro, if porro’s matched the fov of many of the wide angle roofs, and some do of course, had better eyecups, and some modern tweeking I’d save the coin and go that route probably more times than not.
To this day the Nikon...
10/12x50 el is what I went with, also the swaro slc 56’s. I’d go 10x over 8x for low light, my 8’s are a bit brighter but a closer image is more important in being able to see.
Gonna hard pressed to outclass your 12x56 for low light, their big exit and 12x is hard to beat. Power is big factor in seeing, my 7 or 8x are brighter than my 10x42s but I see more with the 10’s. My current best, and imo the best overall bin optically is the swaro 10x50 el’s, had the 10x50...
Agree about the tight eyebox, for me it’s really the only negative I’d give the nx8, you definitely have to have a solid check position, especially when it gets late, the atcar is noticeably more forgiving in that aspect imo.
The 2.5x20 must be very inconstant, I’ve got a seller sample that runs with most anything glass wise, sold my atacr’s because of it. I was in the exact opposite camp in that the 2.5 was better in most ways that my 4x32’s, glass, fov, more forgiving, and so on. Again, inconstancy is all I can...
