    I will echo all the others that your 280 will be fine. Also support the heavier bullet. I feel that heavier is better with bone damage if your shot isn’t perfect, and a broke down moose is not going to go as far when wounded.

    Sad to hear that the 85’s are discontinued! I have a 85 Kodiak chambered in 375 H&H that has accounted for lots of white packets of moose that have filled my freezers… Always feel good with that rifle in the boat, camp, back, field, and hand.
