I will echo all the others that your 280 will be fine.
Also support the heavier bullet. I feel that heavier is better with bone damage if your shot isn’t perfect, and a broke down moose is not going to go as far when wounded.
Certainly, numerous pics of coastal brown bears that have been collected with said combination would be a start.
Having an endorsement of the combination by someone who guides that area for said animals.

I have a pic rail on a 84L that would be optimal with relief @ the ejection port. Seems it would likely cure most ring spacing problems, feed, and weight issues???
