By chance has anyone tried putting a Stone Glacier bag on a K4 frame? It looks like the stay pockets on the bags might line up well with the frame stays, and the compression strap alignment might be close. Swapping buckles is no big deal, but I'm not a sewer so any major mods wouldn't work. Or...
I'm using the same set up and the regular fits nicely. The sparrow adds a bit of bulk onto the bottom of the binos, but still comes in and out just fine.
I've looked at those and thought it would be a super cool setup. If you can run a stove in something as small as a seek outside silex, I imagine there would be enough space in the vestibule on the blacktail. If you do it, post pics!
Colder air temp, wind, altitude, and probably colder starting temp for the water. I doubt there's an equipment option that could make a 110g can work for what you want it to do.
But, if you run out, it's just cold food, not enjoyable but not the end of the world. I think if you want something...
I went through a few pairs of high end boots thinking it was a boot problem, before I saw a podiatrist and found out I had metatarsalgia. I got some custom orthotics through him, that were quite expensive, $500ish. They worked, but were bulky and would only fit in certain shoes and boots...
The Neutrino is definitely a step up in warmth from the Grumman, and a tougher fabric, I'd say probably too warm for early season depending where you hunt. Great late season/winter piece though.
I got a butler creek flip up that works well for the eyepiece, according to order details it's the size 39-40.
I'd like to find something better for the objective lens. I read on here that the Polar Pro Defender 77-82mm lens cover would work, but it doesn't fit at all.
I'd be interested to...
I own an 8 man and my hunting partner a redcliff. If you're planning on packing it on your back, I'd go redcliff. I'm 6'2 and felt there was enough room to stand and put your pants on etc. Youre pretty tight to the pole but its manageable. It's plenty comfortable with two sleeping on the ground...
Not sure what you guys ordered, but I placed my order March 16th, for a flat grind stainless #1 with black micarta scales, with the 3A sheath with the flap, and it was delivered today, within Canada. Hopefully things are moving over there now.
Perfect thank you! Disappointing to hear they all leak considering they arent cheap, but using frozen water bottles and lining it with a contractor bag should mitigate that. A 60ish qt hard side for camp food and trailhead beverages, and some frozen bottles, and a fish kill bag or two for the...
Anyone ever used those soft sided fish cooler bags for quartered or boned out meat? Looks like they're a good shape for it.
I wouldn't expect them to hold ice for long, but I'm thinking you could keep some block ice or frozen water bottles in a smaller cooler, and throw them in the fish bags...
Thanks, good to know compared to the HGs. I was thinking I'd just get a set of the HG in 10x, but with the price of the SFLs, and the ELs coming down, I figured it would be worth looking into an upgrade.
I had them both a 5-6 years ago, so I can't say anything specific, but I recall them being...
Fantastic, thank you. I figured as far as glass goes, the ELs would probably be better, at least on paper. All those other things are what I was curious about.
I'd like to hear some thoughts as well. I've got an SO 8man, but the sloped walls and round footprint eliminates so much usable space, the silnylon sags a lot in rain or snow and absorbs a ton of moisture, the liners eat up even more space if you hang them loose enough to be useful, and if you...
Anyone know what size the side pocket is going to be? I tried rigging up one of their large belt pouches to my current harness, and found it was too big and bulky, mostly too deep front to back. The regular size belt pocket is a much better fit, but a bit too short to fit my phone. Perhaps the...
