I don't saddle hunt, but Arcteryx makes the best kneepads I've ever used. I've used them while running, jumping, slidding, just about any type of movement and they stay put and protect my knees well.
I'm a new archery and found the School of Nock to be invaluable. You're running short on time with the season approaching, but if you're able to get through at least the first several videos to work on fundamentals, it'll do wonders for your accuracy.
I have recent versions (last year or two) of 3 different weight merino shirts of theirs, the Klamath hoody, and the Solitude jacket and they all fit very similar. In my estimation the fit issues of the past have been solved in at least those pieces.
I’m almost your exact size (6’4”, 215-220 here), and I need XL tall in the tops and 35 tall in the pants. Unfortunately too many of their regular XLs are too short in the sleeves and torso for me (here’s looking at you Stratus and Dakota Hoody).
I’m new to archery, but after being out of my bow for about a month this summer due to PSE being completely out of the parts I needed for my bow, it’s making me seriously consider purchasing a back up. If this would have happened during the season, I’d have been entirely screwed.
I just received one of them in a small foliage. I'm a huge fan so far. Obviously no field time with it yet though.
One aspect I haven't seen touched on much is the new material on the front of the harness makes it noticeably quieter than the standard nylon as seen on the older harness and range...
My biggest issue with the Eddie Bauer down jackets I've tried is they don't have a waist drawcord. The XL tall would work wonderfully if not for that glaring oversight.
I'm 6'4" and First Lite in XL works very well for me. I don't have their down jacket specifically, but the Solitude jacket is great in both arm and torso length. Same goes for their base layers.
Besides the obvious quality jump in them vs. other hunting clothes, the biggest thing that makes them worthwhile to me is fit. I'm a tall, athletic guy and most traditional hunting clothes fit terribly. In my sizes especially (XL tops) they tend to be made for a guy who definitely has much more...
