A few years working in the right departments, and that $33 can easily become $40+ working from home or hybrid with semi-flexible working hours (wife is a nurse).
Oh, sorry, I could have made that more clear--I don't have an SWFA 2.5-10. I'm just curious to see how the Leupold compares in performance to that model which was already subjected to the same test (Eval is in the Long Range section of the forum)
FWIW, I sent my VX3HD 2.5-8x36 off to go through the Rokslide zero retention evaluation. It will be interesting to see how it stacks up to the SWFA 2.5-10x32 which has already gone through the eval.
Honestly, yes and yes. I didn’t buy it to resell, it’s going to depreciate, and the desert sun will probably ruin the paint before I’m done with it anyway.
If I lived somewhere rust was an issue, I probably wouldn’t have the same flippant attitude because then it becomes a function problem.
Embrace the scratched paint as a sign you're using the truck as intended and it's not some mall crawling, pavement princess. Make the dealership shudder when you bring it back in for its first service and they see what you've done to it.
I do, and would not recommend the bottom metal and Mamba mag in the current state. The Mamba mag sticks WAAAYYY out and is relatively heavy. The bottom metal isn't bad, but you'll have to use shims that come with the bottom metal to get the magazines to seat properly.
DIP makes a metal bottom...
This might help if you haven't seen it already. When I was looking for a powder to use in my .223 I used this to reach the conclusion that the temperature sensitivity wasn't likely to be super critical for the temps and ranges I'm generally hunting in. I haven't tested temperature sensitivity...
That’s roughly what I came up with and have experienced in shooting the two. A 77gr 223 in a rifle weighing the same as a 6.5 Grendel shooting a 120 gr bullet will have twice the recoil. Roughly 4 ft/lb vs 8 ft/lb.
Look at the 6mm ARC over the Grendel if you really think you want a caliber you can travel to other states with.
There will be a noticeable difference in recoil between a .223 and 6.5 Grendel to a recoil-sensitive kid. Both have limited recoil, but the Grendel will still be almost 2x the 223...

Ask for an update providing them with your control number or suppressor serial and model, your name, and dealer you’re going through. You’ll have a chance of getting a meaningful response that you won’t get on the phone.
Only you can decide how much weight you want to carry and how it suits your hunting, but I’ll say this—the BTX is fun and comfortable to glass with. Add in the 1.7x magnifier for when you need and closer look and you’ve got a formidable setup. For me, the BTX elevates glassing from an aspect of...
7.62x39* / 6.5 Grendel / .220 Russian
*Edit to add, 7.62x39 uses a different depth of bolt face for ARs, despite being the same rim diameter as the Grendel and ARC.
