tikka t3x with a 22" proof carbon prefit. using the hornady thingie, for the 156 bergers i'm seeing 3.065 to the lands. any suggestion for an OAL to try at least for starters? berger says max oal for their ammo is 2.955.
brownells has some, look for one of their 10%off or $off codes and the pricing is pretty good. but yeah if you want to special order, guessing they're not the place.
i have one on order and no other experience with their barrels, but you can order from carbon six in whatever length you want.
i seem to be in the minority, but not a fan of suppressors. i have a tbac7 on my 6.5 creed and have used it on 6.5 prc. i'd def still want to wear ear protection though admittedly it's quieter than a bare barrel or a brake. the other thing, at least for me, is a brake is way better at taming...
i'm always getting stuff via ups at home; just hand it to the driver when he's dropping something off. also, just put in the outgoing bin at work if you have that. also the local mail-it stores don't seem to care, just drop it off.
the tikka i weighed, and incl trigger, bottom metal etc.
the others are from the mfgr's sites and presumably include the action only - no trigger, bottom metal etc.
JAoutdoors sells the Tikka actions. $100 or so less than buying the whole rifle and you don't have to bang off the barrel.
Tikka is a pretty compelling option for any sort of build. They have tight enough specs to use shouldered prefit barrels. A number of companies make drop-in stocks with...
from my scale and what is spec'd online (excl bottom metal if needed; tikka does include bottom 'metal'):

you guys talking carbon six i assume, as proof just has the sendero option? so the lite is just going to be a little thinner, so less weight but a little quicker to heat up, is that right?
where is this thing advertised as being quiet??? it is SUPER loud. but it does an AWESOME job at reducing recoil and muzzle rise. do like i do and wear electronic muffs in the field (i use pro ears 300).
yeah see if your safe has a recommended spot for drilling. remember you only need a hole big enough to get your wire through if you get a plug that can be detached/attached. drill it at least higher than the bottom of the door so that it isn't the low point for flooding water. and if you want...
after browsing i'm skipping to the end here. so, other than more accurate and better BC and/or higher speed, is the actual performance (destroying vitals etc) of some match bullets better than hunting bullets? ie compare 143 eldx to 140 or 147 eldm. or 200g eldx vs 195g eldm.
in other words...
all i can say is there is a lot of very impressive shooting (and hunting) here!! color me jealous! the longest hunting opportunity i've had to date is just 400 yds. i am surprised to hear of the match (vs hunting) bullet success.
lefty here. first tikka was a t3 in 300 win mag. kicked like a friggin mule, if not two mules. sold it.
few years later got a t3x in 300wsm. had it threaded for a brake (i believe righties have options for factory threaded barrels) and added a limbsaver recoil pad and recoil didn't bother...
