    Thanks for the advice everyone. I do agree he’s hit hard. I would estimate he only moved 50-70 yards after he was initially bumped.     Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had experience hunting for whitetail on public land in Texas. I hunt on private property but our deer population is so low we limit our harvest to 1-2 deer a year. Would public land be a decent way to put an extra doe or two in the freezer every year?

    Yes I’m looking at being at around 11k feet. I figured I shouldn’t skimp on any item that I would be relying on to keep me comfortable. For the tent I was considering the Nemo tracker tent. I’ll definitely be looking into your other recommendations as well, thanks.
