I bought an STC and have spent the past couple days comparing it to my straight mini Razor. I think you nailed the comparison between the two:
Focus and zoom movements are smoother and easier with the Swaro
Swaro resolution is a little better
Low magnification on the Swaro is higher than...
I wonder if that's a close estimate on his part. Close enough for those of us who don't have closely spaced eyes. The OD of the magnification ring is where I got the 2.530" then you'll need just a bit of clearance for adjustment.
My IPD is 2.520"--Might need to install a spacer between my eyes.
I think my IPD may be too narrow for the dual STC setup as well. The OD of my new-to-me STC is right around 2.530". For me, it's too close to buy without trying in person first.
Does anyone have some NL 12x42 binoculars in excellent condition that they'd like to sell me?
Update: Got some leads on binoculars, closing this for now. Thanks everyone!
I can't comment on guiding, but I will say, if you're interested in the military and don't have plans solidified for a career or college otherwise, just do it. It might suck, but you'll set yourself up nicely for the rest of your working life as long as you make smart decisions and maximize...
Thanks for posting this, I'm following closely. Have an STC inbound right now, and am somewhat on the fence as to whether I should buy a second STC now for a big eye STC setup, or if I should put that off for a pair of NL Pure 12x42 to carry on my person and add other STC later (or not).
I've hired a babysitter so I could go hunt when we lived over a thousand miles from family and would do it again. If you can afford it and your kids are totally disinterested or don't have the cognitive or physical ability/maturity to come along safely for whatever reason, I would recommend...
I threw this info into a table for sake of comparison using the weights I could find on the web + weights from Adams Adapters. Feel free to add any info, make corrections, etc. Added the Swarovski SLC 15x56 as a sort of baseline and common frame of reference.

FW Arms has a really solid decapper (among other products) that you can buy instead. Once I saw Mighty Armory owner’s openly racist rant on social media, I won’t support that company.
Got my Triple S this afternoon. Its light weight belies the firm structure. This thing is going to fulfill each 'S' really well. I'm going to buy one for a buddy now.
Do you already have a quilt and underquilt for a hammock? That might push you one way or the other.
I have an ENO Junglenest hammock. With a tarp, hammock, a handful of stakes, and the suspension, I'm under 3lb without using an ultralight tarp. If you already have and plan on using a sleeping...
I haven’t used one, but the hammock is a little shorter than the typical 10-11ft. Interesting concept.
It would be cool if the poles could be used to turn the hammock into a bridge hammock which would be a better use for the sleeping pad integration. Maybe it’s awesome, but it strikes me as...
Nintendo Switch is the way to go. Plus, with only two controllers and the right games, you can play with 4 people. Mario Party gets a lot of play in my house and is fun for parties.
I took some measurements on my 13-39x56 Razor that I have on hand. Max diameter is on the focus ring at 2.800". Accounting for clearance to turn (unless I'm missing something), that would leave a pair mini Razors too wide for budget big eyes. Oh well! Maybe a pair of STCs will work for my eyes.
