Always fun to get real life scores instead of just airballs to stay calibrated.
This buck was 158-159 gross if I remember. no mass but decent length.
A buck my wife shot, a much better looking deer that went 155 gross.
Leupold vx3 would be my pick. I have really liked the simplicity of them. I’ve had good luck with warne rings but I wouldn’t say I’ve been around the block with them. A good set of steel rings should serve you well.
I would take a look at the Leofoto tripods with the built in leveling heads and no center column. I’m playing around with one now and I really like it. I could see some limitations with glassing way up/downhill due to only 15° cant but other than that, I think it might be worth a look...
Was the center column extended when using it? Their stuff has always seemed really solid but extending that column will cause shakes no matter what you’re using, it’s just not as stable as when the head is as low as possible. Preferably the center column is not extended at all.
With that being...
I think that scope has an 87mm filter thread. If you do a quick search for an 87mm lens cap, there should be plenty of cheap options to choose from. I just grabbed one for my sts 65 and I think I paid $9 for a snap in lens cap.
Not sure about the NL stud but every other stud on the outdoorsmans mount is a little sloppy until you tighten the adapter onto the stud, then it’s solid. Even without tightening, the outdoorsmans holds binos pretty well.
I purchased this tripod new back in August and I just seem to pick up my old manfrotto more. I used it on a few hunts in September. Nothing wrong with it, just would like to see it go to someone who would get more use out of it. It wont come with the original box but will include everything that...
The LT is more trimmed down but I have never felt like it was less durable. Maybe a touch less organization as was stated but no issues durability wise.
The other difference, at least on the pack I have is that the front compression straps are removable on the LT but not the Pro.
No, to answer your question I don’t think you’d be stepping down optically to go to the leicas from the conquest. I haven’t seen the new geovid r but the older ones seemed pretty on par to the conquests I looked through to my eyes.
Just recently picked this up from another member here but ended up not quite fitting the bill for me unfortunately. Glass is great and very clean. A few minor cosmetic marks on the body but otherwise in great condition. I’ll include an objective cover and an arca plate.
$2,200 TYD US. Will...
A bit of a different opinion here but I have put the 10x42 el range ta and the 12x42 nl side by side and though I realize the 12 has a wider FOV and is a 12, I really couldn’t tell you that the el ta gave up anything clarity and resolution-wise to the nl. Maybe it was a touch softer at the edge...
