My suggestion would be to just use the Metcalf. Saves some cash and it's really not that much of a weight savings to go to a daypack on a frame. Most of the newer meat sandwich frame packs can be compressed pretty well anyway. Plus a few extra snacks or an extra layer are always a welcome sight...
IMO the tracking on the swaro is cool but in 2 years of owning them, I have used it once and it was just because I wanted to try it. It got us close-ish to where we needed to be, at least to where we could find landmarks.
As far as optical/ranging performance, I have continued to be impressed...
Looks good but a puffy is a non-negotiable for me. I run pretty cold but still, it’s lightweight cold insurance and I’d bet you’ll use it more than you think.

I've never experienced any issues with different plates attaching to optics but there is definitely a difference with the plates attaching to different heads. Depending on how the plate is clamped onto the head, a different plate (even of the same make sometimes) will fit differently and require...
I spent a few hunts with the AD, I liked the legs and I feel like they definitely were more stable at a sitting position but no more stable than a traditional tripod at anything above sitting. The reverse leg lock direction took a few glassing sessions to get used to but not a huge deal. The...
I’ve been cleaning out old gear and put this together from spare parts. This would be a great setup for a young hunter to get started or someone who is on a tight budget.
$125 TYD CONUS or US flat rate
Package only, won’t split anything off.

Yeah the Regear or you can keep an eye on gear trade for used items. Not sure if they ever have a real "outlet" sale. Steep and cheap or mountain steals maybe.
I have been searching on the internet for a while looking for what may or may not exist.
I have a pretty solid shooting solution set up for my own rifle... arca rail, leveling base on a tripod with a clamp to direct mount.
However, I am looking for a solution for the same tripod setup to...
If there’s an obvious point of contact in the bino case with the focus wheel, that’s your issue. Normal walking will cause enough movement to take them out of focus. I notice if I leave my kuiu harness lid halfway up, it rubs the focus wheel and I have to refocus when I use them.
You could...
I have been looking into doing this exact thing with a LF 284CEX.
Have you considered bypassing the arca clamp and shooting straight off the head attached to the leveling base? Any cons to doing it that way? That’s what I had envisioned but I like your setup a lot too.
