I mean at the end of the day that's the hunter's choice. The problem right now is people aren't needing to pick stacking points or hunting. Especially if they change tag allocation's, there is no reason a resident shouldn't get to hunt every year. If they want to collect points for 10 years to...
That's kind of what I was thinking...even if it was $10-$20 I'd def still throw in every week.
Look at some of the high profile tags that made the list this year. Desert Sheep? Just last week they had 2 deer tags that took RESIDENTS 11 points to get. You'd have tons of people putting in for...
I sent an email and voiced my support for A/R 5. I think 6 is fine also. Either way OTC needs to go. There are other ways to make up for that revenue and as a resident hunter I'm willing to take them whether that be higher resident fees, whatever.
A thought I also had is what about a...
Get a point this year (If you haven't collected them already) and you should be set up for a decent hunt for 2025. Find a unit that draws out 100%.
Trust me when I say this, you are doing yourself a huge favor and greatly enhancing your experience avoiding an OTC hunt even if they are still at...
I have never been "confronted" and I don't think I'd confront someone. One thing that makes me laugh and happens almost once a year is having a guide call back to me or bring a client towards me on location bugles.
Once they see me they always have some snark remark about "well I figured it...
I would say go for the muzzy deer and get up in the high country. A lot of people put emphasis on snow and the rut, but the those big bucks are still hanging around and doing their thing on the mountain in September. I saw probably the biggest buck I've ever seen during muzzleloader elk this...
I'll go against the grain here and say ML. Granted, I'm not sure what unit you are looking at which would also probably weigh into my decision based on how much pressure they are getting during that ML season. The unit I hunt every year is a draw unit that is about the same to draw for ML/Ar and...
Hey all!
I was fortunate enough to pull a 55 Rifle tag off the reissue list today. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone was headed out to that area and wanted to team up. I have hunted 53/54 quite extensively in the past but this will be my first time pushing into 55.
The unfortunate part...
I'd go with C. I'm assuming if you got the tag in a year it's not hard to get/draw. I always end up bumping into decent deer without trying when moving on elk, but my unit takes a a couple points to add the buck tag.
I wouldn't with those temps. Every year I take mine into the mountains and find myself wearing them less and less for early season. We get 40's early on then things warm up in a couple hours and it's just a pain taking them off. Especially if you're moving, I'd just tough out the 1 or 2 chilly...
They are but man processors in general went up so much the last 2 years it's hard to even gauge anymore. I go to Crippens in Lake George and I swear he's up 30%+ since 2021
