.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Precisely why I started this thread. To encourage objective and critical thinking and applying the same. Its not about “I like...I think…I feel…” an echo chamber or “whatever works for you”.

This concerns me. Im all about taking kids hunting and I get it. There is a HUGE difference between understanding basic firearms safety and shot placement vs being a rifleman killing big bears. Understanding how to effectively run a gun, the complete shot process, having maturity and...

T3x Compact cut and threaded with a can, vertical grip, UM or Sportsmatch T084 rings with a SWFA 6x milquad mil/mil is the simplest ‘easy button’ solution.

What to know about a 20" 6.5 PRC

True. The wound channels were consistently inconsistent enough that I stopped using them. The BC was great and I was optimistic they would kill efficiently, but they didn’t.

This entire thread is about what matters in efficient killing afield... Please, focus on what matters. Build your delivery system around what matters. Become a rifleman. Frees up a lot of mental space and objectivity to figure out the ‘how’ when the above is a non issue.

What’s a “fast twist 250”? Bullets matter. Hit rates. Wound channels. Depth of penetration. Maximum effective range. Delivery systems. Learning to kill efficiency. It‘s a process.
