I personally have not been a fan of most bow slings that are available. Either they are not convenient if a fast shot opportunity arises, they put a lot of stress on my neck, or they slide off shoulder. In advance of my mule deer hunt next week I figured I would try to make a quick release...
The Xpedite has been my go to hunting bow since 2018 until earlier this month when I bought the Omen. The Omen to me is a more stable version of the Xpedite.
Someone read my mind! I was literally about to post my testing results from today for my omen I bought a month ago…
Bow is at 80lb with a 29 inch draw legnth. I got about 250shots in to break strings in before testing today.
Was shooting match grade 4mm axis long range, wraps, and 3 TAC...
I have been on those same tuna trips and use to use Frog Toggs as well. However, I changed to Grunden's a few years ago and have not looked back. That said, Grunden's are bombproof but I do not know if I would want to hunt in them...
I agree I used poor verbiage. Gravity is a constant. If shooting same bow, the forces it imparts are constant. You can take two arrows that are the same mass. If they arrows have different surface areas, their flight performances will be different. Generally speaking, Greater surface area...
Those may be results for the tester. However, I would argue using this as definitive proof is flawed. There is no discussion of the arrow diameter, the fletching configuration, the size of the vanes, or length of the arrow. I don’t know all of the specifications for his arrows. However...
There is no bravado. I took no hardline stance saying everyone should shoot at long range. I said it can be done, which there is a lot of evidence to prove so. I also wasn’t the one throwing out insinuation that I was shooting a mechanical like it’s an insult.
I personally think it’s...
Iron Wills. Never shot a single mechanical in my life. Before iron wills I was shooting slick tricks. And the math is not hard if you know your variables.
This was at 95yds and blew out other side.
And I’ve done the same. Also hunted pronghorn in overgrazed pastures that are practically dirt in New Mexico. I’ve taken 10+ animals at over 70 yds with a bow with none wounded. Also taken countless inside of 30yds. If you know your gear and are proficient with it, you can safely kill and...
That’s why I said know your gear. If a person is in a 25mpg crosswind, they shouldn’t take a shot. If it’s still, calm animal, and you know your capabilities with your gear, you can do it with high probability
Furthest bull I’ve taken with bow was at 95 yds. Furthest animal taken was a pronghorn at 105. Regularly practice out to 125 yds. Todays technology and sliding pins open up a whole new world of possibilities. Just need a well tuned bow and know your gear.
