    Sergeant, Survivor, and Hero

Randy, my last command was an EOD command, and I’m going to visit my old Master Chief in CO this year. Thanks for taking care of one of my guys.

WTS Kuiu Kutana Storm Shell Jacket (M)

BTT. I know I’m newer here, but I’ve bought-and-sold several more items under the same username over at LRH.

WTS Kuiu Kutana Storm Shell Jacket (M)

I’m selling my Kuiu Kutana Storm ShellJacket, size M. Love it. Pockets in all the right places. Fabric is quiet enough and doesn’t rustle and squeak like most Gore-Texes. Cut right: sleeves, all that. Wore it once in light rain to pick the kids up from school (400 yards total). It was...

Exaggerated numbers in the backcountry. Is everyone full of it?

My wife asked last year why I wanted to go hunting. I had to somehow articulate the bliss derived from being confronted with reality - the grandeur of nature and the humility of taking an animal. I also had to appreciate the real bonding that takes place over the campfire, wherein the ability...

I think that Silencertalk and Snipers Hide both have much more info.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The Harvester is nice but I wouldn't put it through the sustained temps of a PRS-type match.

    Firstlite Obsidian Review *Updated 1/9*

I loved the idea of them. The quality was amazing. I returned mine (2018) because they were 'way too baggy (and no, I don't usually wear skinny jeans). I've talked to FL since then, and the newer ones aren't so overly baggy. Unfortunately, I bought the Kutana pants from Kuiu in the meantime...

I was attempting a joke. Apologies for its having fallen flat.

Exaggerated numbers in the backcountry. Is everyone full of it?

Ya know, it's funny... in reality I don't mind a Tough Mudder. If I'm going for a run, I get bored and I don't actually need to prove myself as being faster, so finishing in XX:XX time doesn't really do it for me. But the variety provided by a different challenge or obstacle to overcome - that...

Exaggerated numbers in the backcountry. Is everyone full of it?

I dunno... Threads like this make me think I really shouldn't be hanging out here. If you girly-men can't hang, then you'll be just like all my old hunting partners: left in the dirt. Yeah, that's right; I totally dumped them because they couldn't hang! It's not like they just didn't call me...

Kimber Mountain Ascent - follow up experience

Oh, that's REALLY nice. My call to Browning yesterday was the exact opposite - frustration and scripted party-line. Too much liability. It's really too bad that I like their products (X-Bolt, 725 & BHP) so much. Really reassuring and refreshing to hear that from a large manufacturer. I...

Who makes blaze orange merino shirts?

I won't get to try mine on until I get back CONUS, but SmartWool all pretty much fits the same. I have a light kryptek orange shirt as well, but it's more of a UPF+ rated shirt for fishing-weight, not something I could wear as an outer layer. Maybe Kuiu will take notice? I guess, one question...

    Ok... Let's hear it?

Who makes blaze orange merino shirts?

And how many outer layers aren't. I personally am not a huge fan of the vest option.
