I am in search of a medium/large waist belt in loden color. I have a s/m belt but am at the upper end of adjustment with a 36” measured waist belt. At the next size up I’m at the lower end. MR recommends sizing down when in between sizes but I’m afraid that If I stick with the s/m I won’t be...
Thanks for the info guys. Yeah the Terraframe sounds like a good compromise since it is intended as a light duty backpacking pack. I actually don’t see how it would be that much different in load hauling capacity and comfort. I think the only thing different than the guide lite on the...
I’m mainly requesting reviews and information on the New Manufacture Model 70 featherweight. Not sure if they are made to same specs and quality as the older ones but they appear very nice.
I recently handled one in Cabelas the other day chambered in a 6.5 prc and it immediately started talking to me. It sure felt well balanced and it sure was pretty. Although advertised as a featherweight it’s still weights around 7lbs with no scope.
Does anyone have any experience with them...

Hello! I am in the market for a used MR pack on the Guide Lite frame. Currently considering the Terraframe, Mule, and Plintler. I have heard a lot of people saying that the newer MT frame is much improved and should hold out for one. Most say that they are a lot more comfortable especially...
Well that further confuses things and makes the decision that much harder. Let me know what you decide. Have thought about the pros and cons of each Brand you are considering? I think that the kimber would be the lightest of all brands that offer the 280 ai. I’d like to hear what everyone...
I would think that 8.5 would be ideal. The Kimber Hunter has 9 twist and I have read of people shooting the 168s with good results. So hard to say I guess.
Seeknelk, I’ll have to check out the specs on a bartlein #2. You have made a good point on the question that heavier barrels make more accurate barrels. Your point being …. Stick with a quality barrel maker and the barrel should be accurate regardless of the contour… maybe more or less fussy...
Thanks for the information Old-cat! So it’s 2.75 lbs at 20 inches so if I go with the same contour that puts at around 3.4lbs at 24”.
I’m going to give them a try as well. Like you mentioned, most reviews have been good.
Yeah, if I was going to order one I will also look at northlands. I was hoping to buy something in stock to avoid the excessive wait but that may be my only option unless I can find a slightly used one.
Cahunter805, thanks for the input. I will search around for a savage prefit #3 or 4 from McGowen. They have some 6.5-06 prefits on Gunshack but all they have is the varmint contour.
TK177, thanks for the input. Just curious about using the 280 ai brass, did you run into any issues and and what prep is necessary? I also thought that 270 necks were too long which required extra steps?
I’m selling a good condition 6.5x55 Swede. Matching serial numbers. Missing cleaning rod and disc. Prefer face to face transfer but open to options. Asking 700 or Best Offer. Send a PM with any questions or to Make an Offer! Thanks
I’ve looked at the sales on Gunbroker and it really varies with these old rifles. Maybe more dependent on collector value vs shooter value? Therefore it’s Hard to pinpoint a solid asking price.
