Maybe I’m just dumb, but I didn’t see multiple sizing options for Podiums titanium half outs. All the arrow branded half outs have specific sizes for the different spines’ outside diameters. I can appreciate they aren’t a big boy player in the game, but how does that fitting work?
This is what sealed the topic for me. I’ll never shoot this good anyways. You can start at 6:35, but he shows the groups from shooting both LH and RH at 70 yards (if I remember correctly - he definitely says in the video). Makes no difference - your time would be better spent elsewhere
This year we found another guys arrow stuck in a healthy tree base around camp. I did not want to lose my arrow as the previous guy had, so I found an old rotten stump to shoot into hoping it will pull out easier. My arrow blasted through the rot and then found more solid wood underneath. Ending...
For what it’s worth, if you didn’t use a wrap, you can use one of those copper coated scouring pads to scrape the glue off bare carbon pretty easily. Still takes some effort but you can get it off in a couple minutes
That’s a solid call. I took it into LAS today and they confirmed it was time to replace, so went ahead and ordered new string and cables. I also take my press on out of state hunts (synunm - can’t recommend enough for the price) and will add these strings to the repair kit
I went back over it with wax and didn’t baby it this time. It looks better than before, but I think the cables actually have cut strands at this point. A result of my less than diligent maintenance of the cables. It’s hard to see in pictures, but so far it seems the consensus is that this is...
I did wax them when I first noticed it, but it oddly seemed to just scrape off and cause more white discoloration. Could be bad quality wax, I forget the brand
Very glad to hear this. My bow is tuned just where I want it and I was not looking forward to redoing that. Do you ever replace your slides or have more rub issues after you serve it?
I use the Sitka Fanatic gloves and they’ve worked well for me. They aren’t the warmest gloves by a long shot, but it’s enough for me to get outside and practice in the cold. I use a two finger handheld release and don’t have any issues with dexterity. The index and thumb finger tips get cold...
I’ve noticed that my buss cables are fraying pretty significantly on my Hoyt Torrex. Any ideas what would be causing this? I haven’t twisted the cables myself, but I think Lancaster did when I purchased the bow and we paper tuned before leaving. Only thing I’ve gathered from online is that the...
I was running front and rear, but have since dropped the rear. It was slightly more balanced, but nothing game changing. Ultimately found that the rear bar was just in my way whether I was walking, getting the bow out or setting it down. Guessing you aren’t as bothered by that if you use a...
I actually had a brand new one fail me and my brother this year (2 separate lighters). It was cold and at altitude but we couldn’t not get them to light. The jetboils fired up no problem so we were SOL. We googled it after getting home and I guess this isn’t uncommon and we just needed to warm...
Make no mistake about it, you can still punch this release. I bought one as a gift for my dad, but hate how it connects to the d loop so got a different one. I think having the understanding of the importance of consistent pressure/load before pulling through is important but you don’t need this...
As others said, it will be pretty negligible unless you are an elite level shooter. The difference in inserts is the main difference which you should always be aware of when picking new arrows. But as an FYI - there are different ‘standards’ for measuring arrow length. Some will measure it as...
