Well, that's good timing. I just received my durston xmid 2p yesterday and hope to get out this weekend for a test ride.
My go to the last 4 or so years has been the mountain star and it's been absolutely outstanding. Nothing but good to say about it.
Wanted to give the xmid2 a try...
Well, the issue I seem to always have is lightweight versus durability. I'm a very warm sleeper so R value isn't super critical to me.
I don't think you can go wrong with the xtherm or the xlite although I've had them both fail. I have not slept on any of the nemos and zen bivy just came out...
I have and still have the ether light xt extreme.
It's comfortable and the specs are great.
Here comes the "however"..........
I've had several pin hole leaks which have been difficult to detect. Fixed several and still goes flat by morning.
I'm hard on pads anyway but I would not buy this...
Went on a short solo backpacking trip to fish a high mountain lake.
As I was sitting there, my thoughts turned to getting up as it was time to go fishing and take Miss Ginger for a walkabout.
I usually take my helinox ground chair and thought I would share the "helinox roll."
It's an old guy...
Couple of things........
1. You can't fight nicknames. Fuzzy wuzzy will get his due.
2. Everyone improved immensely. It was fun to watch. Couple of all day grins.
3. Tanya has a hall pass on someone.
4. Kate Beckinsale is.........🔥
5. My gut still hurts from the truck ride......you just...
Yes, great time! Great instruction, great students, great food, great venue.........lots of material to digest and go forward. It's an experience that is somewhat difficult to explain, however it's well worth the effort to attend.
