This is a problem with some rear wheel drive stuff (and in 2wd). Low rear brake bias wont stop the rear wheels from turning, while they push front tires locked up on slippery surface. Usually only an issue right as you are coming to a stop.
This says it perfectly. And this isnt saying drive super slow, but drive for constantly changing conditions. Have seen so many new folks this year on very slippery highways driving 65 plus, bumper to bumper, super aggressive and not surprisingly, an insane amount of crashes. Usually involving...
And, it is all just part of learning to judge road conditions, lived here my whole life and am more cautious the older I get. Still get surprised sometimes.......
Road was probably slippery for awhile and didnt notice, SLIGHT incline or headwind , not sensitive enough with the throttle (to start letting off some). Just different conditions at that spot. Cruise control......?
See that same scenario crashing people and others many times this year, almost...
So you guys that have had trouble with the cams, was after lots of wheels spin? I dont think I have ever used them that way, or in the mud. My one experience with lots of wheel speed and chains resulted in a chain coming off of a rear tire and barely missing a friends head......never found the...
I am really surprised to hear so many not like the cams, what issues do you have with them?
My chains fit so loose they are easy to put on, usually get one cam over and then drive 50 yds and get the other two. Always very tight.
Have never had problems with the cams, but the chains fit my tires pretty good so getting that last cam over is pretty tight. All my chains are big truck chains cut down to fit. end up with 3 cams.
Up to 9 deer total with 223, about half with 62grn fusion and the rest with 77tmk. All under 100 yds almost never any blood, or much for obvious damage to the hide. All but one died quickly, well under 50 yds, the one that did not, was a poor hit. Internal damage with the 62grn fusion...
I am sure the snow is different where you are at, here anyway we rarely get more than a couple feet at a time even up high, that settles down to anywhere from 5-8 feet deep, and the snow especially in the spring is pretty consistent (and the deeper it is the more consistent). Do run into soft...
5 psi is a good starting point, and usually have to get to that low before you really start to see the benefit. It is pretty crazy once you get to the single digits how every 1/2 psi lower makes such a big difference in performance. Have never had problems with beads at 4-5 psi. Have only had 4...
What 37s do you have, and what wheel size and load range tire?
I dont have personal experience with tracks, but from talking to guys and from the videos I have watched with guys using them, I have never been super impressed. In certain conditions I am sure they have advantages over a big aired...
I usually clean and loc tite between base and action, but have used a good automotive silicone to fill up any space, and it glues the base/rail on pretty good.
-20 this morning and it is like a ghost town around here right now.....maybe they left last night........or maybe they just dont have any more cars left to crash.
A HUGE part of that is that it is pretty easy to pull the engine, and a lot of guys just do it to make jobs easier, such as head gaskets.....pulling the engine is not needed, but you will find 99% of guys do it that way.
