KUIU SIZING

Kuiu merino 125 tee. Was told to size up so I got a XL....goes down to my knees. Differences in rain gear models has been a pain. Large in my old Teton I can layer easy. New northridge gear I had to size up.

Drift boat fishing within driving distance of Anchorage?

Any experience with specific guide services? I'm sure most are fine...I like to get a guide once or twice a year for fishing or hunting. I'd be fine with the Kenai area. Can also pm me.. Thanks

Drift boat fishing within driving distance of Anchorage?

Headed up to Anchorage to guide for bear and moose again this fall. A buddy is wanting to tag along and do a day of fishing before the hunt. Looking for a guide to float a river for the day. Was thinking kenai river, coopers landing area. Or maybe head a different direction? Any good...

Whose been scoped?

First time - Shot a skunk out the pickup window left handed (I'm not left handed) when I was about 12 with a 30-06 ruger m77. Second time...many years later - Ruger m77 375 ruger with a short eye relief ziess terra (a pos from the start). That one drew blood, I super glued it up in the mirror...

300 grain Barnes tsx for brown bear

Thanks for the info, nice to hear from someone that's used it on a bear. I think I'll order a few boxes and run them for a while.

I'm kinda leaning towards the Barnes, mostly due to availability. I've never shot a bear much over 100 yards, I'm not too worried about ballistics. 300 grain have done the job in the past, I was just curious switching to a mono bullet. Some people swear by them, I've just never used them..

Pretty limited options now for factory ammo. If I could find dies, brass and powder I could load up some partitions I have left over from my 375 ruger. I have seen the hornady outfitter ammo in stock. It has a 250 grain cx bullet, their version of a ttsx from the looks of it.

300 grain Barnes tsx for brown bear

Would be shot out of a 375 H&H. Factory ammo...choices are slim. I've never used a barnes or any other mono bullet...for any game. Ive stuck to soft point cup and core style 300 grain for my last bunch of bears. Barnes should have plenty of penetration, but is there any worry about not...

What's Your Non-Truck Hunting Rig?

First gen crv. 2001 SE model. Fold the seats down and there is a surprising amount of room. Small lift and 31" bgf all terrains. And yes...that small rock is about all the flex she has. Rear passenger tire was rubbing the fender.

Original Versa Max with soft comb insert and grip panels. Trinyte coated for corrosion resistance. Not the Sportsman or v3. Bought new in 2010 at the peak of my waterfowl hunting, sadly it was the fall before college and I haven't hunted waterfowl since. Been sitting and I'd like to move it in...
