    The 22 creedmoor thread

I probably shouldn't have said nearly, but maybe as good as the old Coreloct or similar. Plenty enough with both lungs being wrecked anyhow. Vastly more deadly than any broadhead, and there isn't a shoulder out there that's going to stop a mono going over 3k. Thanks for the DRT lead! I...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Looks good for lead bullets, but I'm trying to make copper bullets nearly as deadly as the explosive lead pills. The only high bc copper bullets that exist need to be going really fast to shed their petals. It's that 'multiple wound channels' that I'm looking for when shooting elk with a...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

Better feeding and bigger bullets for most folks are good reasons. Me, I want to drive a high BC mono (.47) fast enough to shed it's petals and hammer elk out to 500. 300 yard zero, 17.6" drop at 500. Flat enough that I also don't need to lug around a heavy dialing scope, as my 10 ounce...

Another 5 point, only this was the alternate recipe to the 223 tmk, a 70 grain bulldozer II @ 3557 muzzle V. 350 yards, was up on a cliff shooting downwards at a 45 ish degree angle. Elk was bedded, went through him effortlessly and almost blew his foot off/exploded his ankle. He moved slowly...

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

Nope, its easy. I sent the new kimber profile barrel to thunderbeast for their direct thread option (IIRC), and had them cut it to 18". They insisted on this in order to get their brake in the particular size, which I can't remember offhand. But, it's the CB option setup. Which might not be...

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

Will do. Good point, I'm not terribly interested in losing small fractions of an ounce.

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

After hauling my 22 creedmore (ascent with hunter stock) for a season and finding the recoil so mild with the ultra 7 suppressor, I've decided I'm going to Swiss cheese the stock, because why not? Not sure if I'd risk this with a higher recoiling cartridge... Anyhow, I can't find any images...

So, how light can a Kimber Hunter be? A build thread.

Very nice, the paint looks 'factory' to me from here! Curious about the exact loktite product (?), that's definitely light enough to convince me to use it!

308 150 grain TTSX Barnes performance this year so far.

Oops, all of mine were 150 grains, FWIW

308 150 grain TTSX Barnes performance this year so far.

Factory or reloads? Unless those are extra slow reloads then I would have to assume you got a bad batch... I've never seen one not expand, and that's on more than a dozen deer and elk, out to 400 yards on 2 of them, and those 2 were basically DRT.

4.5 pound 30-30 contender recoil pad help

End goal for me is probably just the 16.5" 223 barrel with dual performance mono projectiles because I like to shoot copper. I unpacked the new bullberry 223 last night. Not sure if I'm going to spend the cash to get it fluted since it's so short, probably only lose an ounce. But, I really...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

It looks like I landed at just north of 3500 fps with R17 in the 1:8 18" .218 barrel. No pressure signs other than a partially flat primer. Backed off a bit from 3600fps as warm day was giving me ejector marks. 70gr monos. 5/8" groups on a breezy day and I'm ready to hunt, after I verify at...

WTS New Kimber 84m MPI Stock 15.3oz blank

I bought this stock but decided to go a different direction. It will fit any 84m as far as I know. I'm including the new swivel studs and new trigger guard. Also included are the necessary action screws, which will allow you to put this on the hunter 84m. With the trigger guard and swivels studs...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

I estimate that I'm definitely pushing the limits pushing a 70gr mono (more bearing surface) at 3584 in an 18" .218 bore. If that load isn't half moa or better I'll be stepping down, not up in charge. Curious what pressure that load is with 43 grains of r17? The alpha OCD brass definitely...

    The 22 creedmoor thread

That should be interesting to see the speeds from that beast. I haven't honed in on a node yet, but I got to 3584 fps with R17 in an 18" barrel (70 grain monos). Mostly flat primer, slight crater being the only pressure signs. Warmer temp and lower elevation than I hunt by far, so I'm pretty...

You've carried a suppressed rifle far and wide

I agree, I paid the $20 for a year of XXL reloading data, and good thing I did, as I didn't even get close to book max before I had a leaky primer. Mono bullets with no pressure relief grooves...

You've carried a suppressed rifle far and wide

Very happy with the velocities i'm getting out of the new 18" 22 creedmoor. Looks like the final loads are going to end up between 3400-3500 fps with a 70 grain mono (bulldozer 2). 18" of drop at 500 with a 300 yard zero. Now that's a trajectory that really limits the chance of wounding...
