    Hello, have Tikka questions.

If you rebarrel, would you keep it as a 300 WSM?

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

    How does that balance?

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

Now that e-file is back online, I’ve heard some are getting stamps as little as 90 days. I didn’t use the e-file, so I’m coming up on a year.

Story of My first Elk, Last Elk Hunt with Dad

That should be a great hunt!

    First Rifle - 3k Budget

I get what you’re saying. I’m not a long range hunter, so my expectations are being able to hit a pie plate out to about 400 yards. I can hit it out to 600, but not EVERY time. So, my limit is 400 and most factory rifles will do that and I don’t need to spend the money. But, if you’re a...

    First Rifle - 3k Budget

The beauty of Tikka, is the external dimensions are identical besides barrel length and sometimes contour. That means having an understudy rifle that is true apples to apples.

    Remington mountain rifle thoughts?

I bought a 280 and didn’t care for the B&C stock. It felt chunky through the wrist. I sold the stock and put it in a McMillan EDGE. Now its....its....INCREDIBLE!

    First Rifle - 3k Budget

I’m a fan of the standard T3x Lite Stainless or the Superlite (same, just fluted barrel). The Superlite is a Sportsman’s Whorehouse exclusive. I can’t get fired about the painted up “Veil” or whatever else they have beyond the basic lite/superlite, but your mileage may vary. If you were...

They aren’t real quiet, but they are durable. I figured they thought we’d break these things.

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

Maybe I’ll have my bolt action 223 threaded and I’ll screw on an adapter for my suppressor. Hmmmm....

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

We use Federal Tactical Bonded 62gr. Same weight as M855, but different construction. The only benefit to our suppressors is cutting flash signature and blast out to the side....unless you’re not using the suppressor and you’re to the right of the muzzle adapter/comp. Edit: And it cuts down...

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

Just ARs and MP5s. I’ll have to give it a shot.

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

Maybe I am. I’m not too old, 39. Maybe I’ll pay for it someday. I wear earpro when hunting ground squirrels since there is more volume of gunfire. Never worn it while hunting rockchucks, coyotes, or big game.

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

This will sound dumb, but I’ve never had a sinus infection in my 39 years. It’s another thing that I wouldn’t have considered. It makes sense. I live near an artillery impact range, but it’s probably not nearly as bad as being next to the gun! We use flashbangs from time to time, but not...

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

I think part of the issue I have is I’ve never hunted anywhere I could shoot at multiple big game animals. That, and it’s pretty thick around here and shots are often pretty quick with little chance at a follow-up. It seems like the woods seems to soak up the noise. It sounds almost like a...

    Favorite deer catridge/rifle.

Deer hunting for me can be close range like blacktails in thick coastal timber or whitetails in the forested hills east of the cascades. It can also be open canyons and prairie for mule deer and the whitetails that have adapted to it. So, it’s hard to pick one rifle/cartridge that is “perfect”...

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

Are you guys chopping your barrels down? Seems like everyone wants an 18 or 20 inch barrel for suppressed shooting. How can they not lose velocity? The shortest barrel I have is 22”, while most of my rifles have have 24”-30” barrels. I’ve honestly never noticed the noise while shooting at...

    Suppressors...what am I missing?

I’ll start off with this: I shoot suppressed at work. It’s at the detriment of velocity and adds weight and length to my 11.5 AR. But, almost all of the situations I’d have to use this rifle would be indoors and/or very short ranges. I’m simply not going to be in a situation where I can...
