It was the V3, not the X, although they are for all intents and purposes the same performance wise. I originally wasn't going to upgrade until I shot the Phase4 29 side by side with my V3 27 set up at the same weight, DL, and letoff. I felt that the 2" longer riser held a bit better and the P4...
I really enjoy carrying my Affinity 3, barrel is 26" though so if you can deal with that it is what I would go with. The only time my 12 comes out any more is for geese and some duck hunts.
FWIW, currently shooting the newer Maxima Sable but with the 50 grain brass inserts and some additional 12-ish grain "weights" I made via. turning down some socket head screws. Arrow length is 25.5 C2C, total weight 437(ish), 275 FPS and roughly 13% FOC. I'm not an FOC blowhard by any means...
For those of you with the Tikka/KRG bravo setup, how many of you are running that stock with the OE barrel? And if so, does it throw the balance way off to the rear of the rifle, or does it still balance ok? I enjoy the OE stock with the vertical grip, so not sure the bravo is going to be that...
Interned with the integrity management company the last 1.5 years of college so I was fortunate enough to step into a full time role right after graduation. However, the amount of travel was significant (and very spontaneous) so I decided to look for soemthing new as we wanted to start a...
ME degree here. 6+ years in as a product design engineer in the outdoor industry (previously corrosion engineer in pipeline industry). I make a pretty darn good wage given my position and location, have the ability to work from home when needed (sick kids and such), and I mean...who doesn't...
I have been stopped twice with a brass thumb button in my carry on, after they pulled me aside and confirmed what it was, the TSA agent was genuinely curious as to what it was for and how it was used.
And I've seen deer shot like hell with a rifle from 50 yards.....not sure what your point is here.
Whether your capability is 50 yards or 750 yards, do your due diligence to minimize risk (you'll never remove error completely) then go forth and slay.
This is very similar to what I'm putting together for my wife. Been tossing up 243 vs. 7mm-08, but given that 99% of it's life will be a deer/antelope rig the 243 makes too much sense.
After putting one on my 270 this year, I have another one in the safe waiting to go on another rig once I get it all done. I have been wanting a 3-9 for my 270 for over a year, but ended up jumping on the 4th of July sale earlier this year and have been very impressed with the 3-15. Even...
Dad of 3 with girls who like to climb on me A LOT. I carry a 365XL in a Henry's Holsters appendix rig, and I ALWAYS carry hot. I've never worried about an AD/ND with them around, but I'm fairly diligent about not letting them play with my shirt up or stand on me there, etc. Appendix carry...
That will be a VERY small bump, but you should be able to get your BS and FS touching at 20. Before making a small adjustment like that I always take a picture of where my rest is at so I can move it back if need be.
Well I have an update on the performance on the Chamberlin. Been bowhunting with it with morning lows in the mid-20s. Jacket is super warm, and I've been perfectly comfortable with a FL Kiln 1/4 zip, a Klamath grid fleece and the Chamberlin.
Got to full draw on a decent 10 yesterday that...
