Hey guys.
Whats the etiquette for tree stands on public land out West? Climbers only? Can you put up semi-permanent stands with ladders? If I put up a stand, will others respect it, or is it fair game if I'm not in it?
I know there's other scenarios I haven't thought of, so please lay it...
I think explaining what works for you does help.
Thanks!
Sure.
Synthetic base layer I bring just for sleeping (in the hopes sleeping in a base layer that isnt sweaty should help). Heavy wool socks. Kuiu Attack pants. A light mid layer synthetic shirt (whichever I have brought) and a Peleton...
I have worn all my layers, minus my puffy which I put in my footbox to keep my feet warm. I was not warm in the high teens in a "19 degree bag". As said above, judging my bag vs the WM's, which everyone agrees are the warmest, I would say my probably competes against WM's 30 degree bag, which...
I have worn my layers, it didnt make a huge difference for me.
Im tall and skinny and have low body fat, I sleep pretty cold compared to a big guy that has a few extra pounds on him.
I do live in a hot climate... but I used my 19 degree bag (IMO more like a 30 degree bag, thats what I think the equivalent is for WM) in the low 50's this summer and it was perfectly fine. If I unzipped it and laid it out I am sure I would have no issues in the 60's... so I am not sure how...
Hey guys, I still can't decide what route to go and I'd love to hear some other opinions, especially from anyone that has tried both.
I have a couple hunts this winter where average lows in the areas are 10-15 degrees. I sleep cold. I just stepped up to an Xtherm from my XLite, and that should...
6900 gets very compact in bivy mode, so I wouldn't worry that its going to be too big. I'm happy I went with the 6900.
My only regret is I bought it 3 months ago. Now they seemingly are sold everywhere under the sun and I could have saved money by waiting, lol. I didn't expect Kurt's bags to...
As the title says, looking to buy a Thermarest NeoAir Xtherm in Large. I don't care if its a Max or not. I'd like it to be in good condition.
Let me know if you have one. Thanks.
Oh sweet, I didn't know that they were plastic. Thanks!
Anything in particular that can be a PITA when making these pullouts I should warn her about? It seems basic but I don't really know anything.
Hey this might be a stupid question, but how do you cut the zippers?
My mom sews and I was telling her about these pullouts and she thinks it would be a fun project, but shes all worried about how to work with the zippers.
For some reason I can't send you a message... Sorry I haven't called yet, but I'll try you tonight, I've been really busy.
And I'd definitely be game to get together. I love talking hunting.
Awesome just got your PM, thank you. I'll shoot you a call after work one evening this week.
I'm from NY, grew up hunting state land plots in Central NY and kept doing that until I moved here... And yep, I'm in Phx now.
I hunted the Dec/Jan hunt last yr. The previous yr I was just getting my...
That would be great, feel free to PM me any pointers on where to start, it would be a huge help (or I can reach out to you when I get to a computer).
Im from out east, so a bunch of whitetails under my belt but no Muleys yet. I spot and stalked a few last year, it was a great experience but I...
