Swarovski 95mm Objective Arca Plate Doesn’t Fit

Is your RRS tripod head in ARCA or RRS mount? The RRS mount is slightly larger than a standard ARCA and will require the RRS specific place for your spotter. Unfortunately, the Swarovski base plate is about 0.07" to small to fit snugly in an RRS mount.

    What bag to get

There are a ton of great options on the market, but we have been extremely impressed with Stone Glacier’s Chilkoot 15 degree bag. In our opinion, it’s the best down bag currently available.

Should I up the bino budget for this deal?

    Trekking pole shelters

We will usually pack everything up and take it with us. One of the big benefits of trekking pole shelters is they are extremelly lightweight. Why not pack around a few extra pounds and be able to camp wherever you end up at the end of the day?

    How far have you jumped?

They definitely can shoot well with a large jump! However, they are probably one of the pickiest bullets to seating depth out there. It’s all about finding the sweet spot. The VLDs are one of our favorite bullets!

    Recommend a pack

Take a look at the Stone Glacier Solo. It works great as a day pack but has enough room for overnight hunts.

    Spring Bear Montana

You might get some hunting pressure out of Missoula, but in general hunting pressure during the spring bear season is relatively minimal. There are a pile of bears in that area of the state. A good spotting scope will be your best friend for spring bears; they can be very difficult to judge!

    Early Rifle Montana

The backcountry units are general units so you shouldn't need any points to draw. Most of the units are extremely difficult to get into. As others have stated, you will more than likely need to go in on horses. Elk numbers are low in some of the units due to heavy predation from wolves and...
