Probably not a secret ... suppressors can be really quiet even on magnums.
I'm jealous, men. We can't have them in my state, but I got to use one on game in NZ in June and it was very eye-opening. I loved the sound reduction (I shot a 30-06, hunting partner shot 308), but the recoil reduction was also substantial. Likened push to a .223, but the push was more gentle... -

Oh nice! 7PRC does show a lot of promise and I'm sure it will catch on. Have you had the 7 PRC out on a hunt yet? What bullets are you using in the field? -

Alpaca wool is better than merino.....
I wore (Hollow Fleece, I believe) Alpaca socks in NZ this June (winter) much thinner sock than I have normally used and were the warmest socks I've tried. Very soft, like cashmere. I still like my thicker Darn Tough wool socks, but I think I'll get some more Alpaca to try. -

Jewell Triggers still around?
Are Jewell Triggers still out there? I have them on a couple of rifles and really like them, but haven't seen them mentioned or used much. Website doesn't look up. Were they sold or defunct? -

Short Action Rifle Build
Not much that 160 AB cruising that speed couldn't handle. I have a hankering for 7 SAUM. I've got a 7mm-08 and 280 Remington, which makes it kinda "unnecessary", but still interesting and fun to dream about. Thinking a light mountain rifle will a bit more zip than the 7-08 and a LOT lighter... -

Glassing chair? Packable
Helinox. I had a heavier version called a BigFoot I think, for years, but the Helinox is SO light and comfortable. I sprug for it this year. -
2023 Broadhead Recommendations
Iron Wills S100s are what I use. Fly great, kill even better and are tough as nails. I haven't hunted whitetail, but blacktail, bears and pigs in the West and no complaints.- jzeblaz
