    The Shoot2hunt Podcast

The talk on the actual subject was substantive - a bit different perspective on “why” for scope preference was helpful to hear.

    Warne HyperLite Picatinny

They are brand new so likely very few have used them to date. I’ve only seen 1x post showing them in a mounting system, it it appeared the ring threads has stripped out…..

    Leica CRF Pro Rangefinder

Half of my field time with it has been in the clouds/fog so hard to say from me personally. Bright sunny days out in my yard (live on open prairie) has been easy to return 1000+ but that’s using houses. In the field it hasn’t returned 1000+ every time, but again weather hasn’t been stellar...

    Leica CRF Pro Rangefinder

I think 2100 or so is my furthest return so far.

    Leica CRF Pro Rangefinder

I can tell you in the sunlight, I do not think the brightest "5" on the display is quite dark enough. It ranges fast and is quite effective. BT appears to not be able to connect to your phone unless all other devices are not connected to the phone (ie garmin chrono connection won't allow...

    Which action to buy

No. Popularity is not an indicator of much, and is of itself a flawed argument. I’m not making “an argument” but rather an observation. I did not imply people were being fooled. I own an R700 footprint action and have never had an ND. That doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. Consider how...

    Which action to buy

I don’t really have a dog or Tikka in the fight…..but citing “millions” of R700s sold is not a strong basis for anything. There’s millions of “X” sold at Walmart every year. That’s not a sure indicator of a particular trait other than it’s desirable and the price is acceptable. Millions of...

How To Get Ahold of Therm-a-Rest?

I’ve warrantied 2x xlites for mystery leaks, and both have been replaced. Have been very impressed. Go Warranty FAQ and there’s a link to start a claim. They take a bit to turn one around but I’ve always been impressed in my dealings with them...

    SEAK mountain goat lessons

Marty I’m far from any kind of authority on the matter, but would say my preference for backpack based mountain hunts was a good starting point, because I knew a lot of my weaknesses. I’m not overly positive or a large person. Gear and living out there were more of the easy parts. Since I was...

Maven .6 LPVO Newest Newer New Model

I should clarify by obsession, I meant manufacturers, not your personal choice on optic. 4-16 atacr seems to pop up a lot as bulletproof optic on here. My buddy had one one his WSM for a while.

Maven .6 LPVO Newest Newer New Model

Negative. Had a 35mm mark 5 HD. Have never needed the elevation travel on a hunting rifle. They are normally heavier/beefier obviously, and I prefer to stay out of the 30oz plus ATACRs etc. This one is lighter which is cool, maybe the extra tube helps with the optical design/space as well?

Maven .6 LPVO Newest Newer New Model

Really can’t understand the 34mm obsession and reticle. Seems pretty tactical. Turret and “robust” sound great. Trijicon has similar optic this year that’s new.

All around backcountry rifle set up for under 3000?

I think a 34mm tube on hunting scope is overkill. I think I’d consider, from factory rifles, something you could cut or comes at usable length in 20” range. Would also consider the stock and if you’re upgrading that, which would drive what kind of factory rifles to consider. Agree on...

    Revic BLR10b Rangefinding Binoculars

Reading all of this RF chest bino being acquire/target tool, not up to par for "glassing" makes me think the alpha 32mm RF binos that are a bit smaller may be a better fit for this use. Would be hard to give up tripod mounted Swaros. Revic needs to bust some minis out. BUT - Revics are...
