    Custom Gun Into Canada

I now consider myself a failure as a sportsman... and possibly a man :cautious:. found it.

    Custom Gun Into Canada

That's what I thought too, and it was to be stamped on the receiver. Gonna look it over again once I get the kids to bed.

    Custom Gun Into Canada

Only vague info when i tried to google it. Have a custom rifle I just realized doesn't have a serial #. If I try to take it into Canada with the space for the # blank on the 5589 form is that going to cause issues?

    New Mexico Record Bull/BOAL

Never fails. I was all excited about my bull and that bleepin thing was laying there :cautious:. Jokings aside, i liked mine better anyway.

    New Mexico Record Bull/BOAL

Believe this one was at the taxidermist when I dropped mine off. Was impressive in person.

    Lower back hurts

I kinda did the same thing. A friend (spinal surgeon) called me hurtful names and told me to lighten up to start. Also pointed out the fact that core/ab work, separate from the weighted walks, would go a long way

    Truth or Consequences NM

appreciate the input. my hunting partner booked rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in T or C a while ago so at least I've got a decent place to stay. Just need to pull all the gear out of the truck and find some food then I guess.

Planned on it. It's sad, but it's like that everywhere these days.

    Truth or Consequences NM

Heading to NM in about a week with a friend. We talked about staying in Truth or Consequences for a night on the way to where we're headed. We'd like to get some dinner and a possible drink or two while we're there. Any input regarding places to try (or avoid) would be appreciated. Thanks

    Kuiu Rain Gear Questions

I've got some Yukon and some Chugach, although I'm not even sure that they make either of them any more? Have used the Yukon on a kodiak bear hunt, did well. Used the Chugach on a Idaho deer and NM Elk, and those held up just fine and were super light to pack away when it was dry.

Do you take a backup rifle on hunts?

I have first hand knowledge of 1 mammoth Kodiak brown bear that still walks the earth because of "out of spec" (their vague description when they offered me a new one after I sent mine in) backlash on a Vortex scope.... 😔 That said, when possible I bring a backup

    WI Outfitters

I own property in Buffalo County and help with food plots on about 2000 acres in the area. KHNC is correct about pressure but doesn't mean big deer aren't there. Knowing what I know if I had to do an outfitted hunt there it would be with Tom Indrebo @ Bluff Country. You can PM if there's any...

Hotel in Kodiak for one night

Stayed at the Kodiak Compass Suites while I was there. Clean and close enough to walk to most places you'd have to go.

    Kodiak spring gearlist

This was my quick/dirty list for a fly in. Hard yes on the rubber rain gear, at least a longer coat. Even when it wasn't raining it worked good to lay out on the glassing nob to lay on for mid day naps :)

    Rem.9 1/2 magnum primers

I've got some for my 300 WSM. Right now have ADG brass, 63 gr RL 17 and 168 gr TTSX loaded up with these primers to test on Sunday. If there's any decent info to report on the primers on Monday I will.

    Hiking Order with wife/kids?

I'v e put more thought into this. If something did go south, I wouldn't be surprised if my wife handled it like a champ because she'd think of our kids before herself.
