I have the XL in a 5 pin and love it. I debated just getting the regular Fast Eddie, but after talking to one of the Spot Hogg guys he convinced me to go with the XL that way I at least had the option to extend it out if I wanted to which I did end up doing.
I just finished sewing a DIY pyramid tent and I'm getting ready to order a new set of trekking poles that I can also use as the pole for it. I'm really liking the reviews and price of the Cascade Mountain Tech aluminum poles, but the only thing I'm wondering is if you can remove the bottom...
I had some issues with my big toe going numb in a pair of salewa's when I first got them last summer. Once I loosened up the laces on the tops of my feet the problem went away immediately.
Does anyone have any tricks for removing HIT inserts from the axis arrows? I have quite a few older arrows that are a little long and it looks like after I cut them shorter there will still be about 1/2" of the inserts left in them.
When I first moved out west I thought my pronghorns were going to be all I needed, but it only took one off trail hike to realize I needed something else. I ended up going with zamberlans which I really like, but from the days I've spent shed hunting in my new balance running shoes I can say...
I have a Remington 700 in 300 WM that I inherited from my grandpa. Right now its barrel is 24" and he had the barrel ported. I am thinking about having the barrel cut down and recrowned just below the porting which would put it just a bit over 22". My thinking behind this is to hopefully make it...
Over the past 5 years or so I've wore Darn Tough socks almost exclusively and I thought they were the best socks out there until I got my first pair of Farm to Feet this fall. After using them for all of my hunting this year I think my Darn Tough's will be worn as an everyday sock and the Farm...
Lately I've just been using the cheap rag wool fingerless gloves. Last fall my buddy fought cold hands the entire time we were backpacked in because of constant rain and wet gloves that he could never dry out while my hands were damp, but stayed warm enough the entire time.
Has anyone here tried out the MTN Silnylon 6.6 XL from RSBTR? I'm going to be ordering some material for a tipi project this winter and I'm really thinking about going this direction, but with it about double the price of their regular silnylon I just don't know if it's worth it for me.
What do you guys do with your bugle tube while hiking? This will be my first year bowhunting for elk and I am just trying to figure out the best place to have it so that it is easy to get to quickly, but still out of the way for a quick shot. I have an exo pack and with the tube slung around my...
After watching this thread for a while I finally decided to jump in and start yesterday. I've been really working at extending my range for my first western bow season after moving from the Midwest last year and I've definitely been making progress. I'll be shooting at 60 yards which is what I'm...
I guided up there for a couple seasons too and a 10' 7-9 wt. would cover just about anything. For a spey rod it all depends on what you want to do with it. If it was for trout I would look at something in the 11-13' and 5-7wt. range. For kings it would be 13-14' and a 9 or 10 wt. I would second...
I've put a ton of miles in mine and I really like them. Real comfortable and super supportive. For some situations I think they can be a little bit of an overkill, but when I needed them I was sure glad I had them.
Me and my wife use our cast irons every day, if not multiple times a day. 95% of the time they never see soap and just get wiped out, but when something sweet and sticky is cooked in it, like a stir fry or certain sauces, we use soap. One thing is we DO NOT soak them and as soon as they are...
