Mainland brown bear either baited or spot and stalk. The grizzly hunts yield bears more in the 7.5-8' range. I shot a 7.5' bear with him in 2017 in the Talkeetna's. Some are bigger, but on average, this is what to expect.
Kodiak hunts are 9'+ in most cases.

I've done this with a couple of outfitters. Both basing out of a hotel, and from my own camp. Can cut a thou or so off the hunt cost. Compass West has hunts with this option. Several others do as well, you may just have to ask if it's not part of the package on the internet, or their...
The rear screw on Savage rifles can cause issues. Most of the time, it's too much torque and the rear tang contacts the stock (its not supposed to). The stock inlet does not fully support the back of the action and it will warp the action if too tight. Too little torque, and it acts like a...
I know both Jake Jefferson and Phil Shoemaker. They are solid options. I'll be hunting brown bear with Jake first week of October this fall. The difference is price and bear size. Jake's areas are 8-9 foot areas, and Phil's area is 9'+.
Bob Cusack has some good hunts. Billy Molls is...
First, unless you are planning on an aftermarket stock at the get go, I would choose the rifle that fits/feels better to you. Some Tikka models have stock mods for the factory stock that are nice. I don't believe Browning has this, but have not kept up with their model lineup.
As for...
That issue is not uncommon on any CRF action. It's impossible to diagnose without seeing what is happening. I'll assume this is a right hand rifle. For left hand, reverse my comments below.
A few possibilities:
The cartridge is coming up late and the rim is at too much angle to slip under...
My No 1A in 30-06. With the 22" barrel its nice and short, and quite light weight. I snagged some special edition French walnut for it that was for a Lipseys edition, if I recall. The original stock was plain dark walnut.

Couple of options:
Have an Ace barrel put on by Unkown Munitions.
LRI is good to go, and have them put on a K&P barrel. Not as well known outside of the extreme long range crowd, but excellent barrels.
I suggest these barrel brands because they are very good, and more importantly...
The best that I have are from non-hunting brands and are blends. More durable, and dry faster than 100% wool. Terramar has a merino line that has been great. Rab is another that I have that has been very durable. Several Amazon brands that are blends have also been good. If you're patient...
Depending on how bad it is, it is cheaper to have it refinished and hot blued.
I would only rebarrel if the current barrel had a shooting issue. Cosmetics and just that.

Allen key for action screws, torx key for scope and an Atsko Rapid Rod with brush end. A solid cleaning rod is needed for a few issues that I've seen. Ice, snow, dirt, and in Africa wasps that like to plug your barrel with mud.
If I'm going somewhere with no access to the outside world...
It's 100% about food. Talk to the Bio in the unit about mast crops, berries, and what they key in on in a dry year without berries. Then research those plants to find where they grow on the mountain.
They move constantly in the fall as well. Last time I hunted them in CO all of the bear...
There really isn't too short since the neck is only there to hold the bullet. The only downside to a short neck is possibly additional carbon ring buildup if the powder you use is prone to that. Not a big deal with normal cleaning.

I fly for work doing inspections, construction survey and crop studies. What kind of info are you looking for? Cost to get into that line of work is not awful, but not cheap up front. Can be very lucrative if you get good at a specialty like industrial inspection. Depending on where you...
There isn't much to read on the Ruger Hawkeye because its basically been unchanged since 1991 outside of the Hawkeye trigger. The Hawkeye rifles that I've shot have all been decent shooters. I would say that they are 1.5" or better rifles in a general statement which is on par with every other...
The NextGen is the better brake for a bolt rifle simply for the extra port. The AR brake is designed for more mild cartridges found in AR's. Tuning wise they are identical in function and performance.
My two cents on tuners. They don't do anything that load dev doesn't. Where they do best...
