    Back to the Henrys

Very cool indeed. I remember reading about the Henrys when I was younger and living in WI. Getting to hunt it myself was a dream come true. Having now also hunted it with my wife just 3 years later is just amazing luck.

    Quality clothing w/o blatant labels

I hate wearing clothing that has the brand posted. I don't mind logos but hate the company name on display.

Hunting in the 1980s and 90s

. You reminded me of my dad's homemade stands. Made from wood and rope. The platform was enough to stand on without moving. And no safety belt. Today they would be considered child endangerment. I am still amazed my dad was comfortable putting his kid up in that thing.

    Favorite Game to Eat

The pronghorn back straps I have made were easily better than any elk or deer I have cooked.

Does anyone use a thermal while scanning before switching to traditional optics?

The first step in killing an animal is finding the animal. Thermals are absolutely game changers.

I have a galvanized pot I use for boiling heads that is leaking at the seams. Is there a best silicone to use to seal it up?

    Back to the Henrys

Alright, I just got home and will finish up this thread. As mentioned I wanted to post what I was seeing out on the mountains as most people will never get to experience this famed mule deer unit. This is a special place to me. It just feels different than any place else I have hunted. I...

    Back to the Henrys

Well, she made it about 30min into the season before she killed one. She got what she wanted out of it and is quite happy. I'll have more details when we get back.

    Back to the Henrys

Still seeing lots of deer, just not anything big. My wife will have plenty of opportunities to kill a buck though so should be fun. Heading back in the morning and hunting Wednesday.

    Back to the Henrys

Took the wife out to the range yesterday for more practice and she shot well. If we have a good setup she can shoot to 200 yards. If we are rushing a bit probably keep her at 150 yards or less. Heading back out there to scout some more now. Wednesday will be here quick.
