223, 6.5 manbun, 7mm RM. I can shoot a lot with the 223, the 6.5 will heat up if you’re not taking breaks. The 7mm is good for around 8-10 rounds (no wind). If there’s a breeze, it makes a huge difference in pushing the mirage out of the FOV.

I wish they would update them. After years of using merino wool as their primary fabric, they have slowly moved most of their fabrics to synthetics. It’s a bummer. I vastly prefer wool most of the time. Synthetics have their place, but an Obsidian 2.0 is overdue.
I just sent them a belt that had the stitching ripping out where the shoulder straps attach to the belt. The pack is at least 8 years old and has been abused repeatedly. They sent me a new belt, no questions asked. I wouldn’t have called it a defect- just overuse, but they honored it immediately.
