Osprey packs are terrible. My wife used one for years and constantly complained about how it carried on longer trips.
Got her a KUIU setup and she couldn't believe how much better it was. Almost as light as her Osprey but about 3x more padding and an actual frame to distribute weight.

Exactly. I do wonder how guys struggle to kill bears in WA. Used to see them on every single outing in the highcountry.

I've used a 0 degree EE quilt on every single hunt from September through November for about 6 years now, have been very happy with it. All backpacking trips. WA, ID, MT. Just use it as a blanket if you're too warm with a leg kicked out, or batten down the hatches and weather out some real cold...
I think you'll be fine, especially with having a puffy along just in case. Depends where you hunt though...last year it was close to zero for a 2 week stretch here in the NW corner at night. I wouldn't consider a 22 degree quilt warm enough personally, and I also sleep really hot.

My folks got me a Tikka T3 Lite in .30-06 when I headed West after college as a graduation gift. Never killed anything with it, as I went down the smaller, short action cartridge rabbit hole pretty quickly once the backcountry bug bit me.
