I’ve only used marsupial gear and don’t have a reason to try anything new. I’ll be ordering my fourth one soon. I’m going to try the no mag range finder pouch so it doesn’t click shut with the magnet, but I’m sticking with the magnet closure on the actual bino pack.
Pronghorns were some of my first hunting boot. Loved them until they leaked. Not a boot I’d buy again. I have their east ridge for cold snowy hunts or hike in ice fishing. I believe these are US made and a good boot for the conditions just mentioned. I live in scrapa kinesis pro in all other...
I’ve used truglo on iron sights but it always comes off regardless of surface prep. If I do it again, I’m going to paint it, let it dry, use a razor blade to remove the flake/rectangle, then reattach it with two part epoxy.
Can you provide a link to the LED you used? I have extra USB cables after upgrading my iPhone which has a different connection type. Perfect use for them.
I’ve had the same this year, lingering upper respiratory issues and hacking up snot. It seems like it’s from allergies and small colds. Step daughter just got covid again for the 4th time. I got it for the first time in December. I think I got norovirus in March. Zero sickness from the...
They were out in force gathering signatures at the Boulder County farmers market in Longmont several weeks ago. There was a line of older women waiting to sign.
You’ll run into an insane number of out of state bow hunters and lots of deadfall. Last year I was in the unit for the first time during archery season for other reasons and this was my observation.
I have the TFO Lefty Kreh Finesse Series 7’3” 2 wt. I use it for small stream brookies, browns, and cutts. I have 3wt and 4wt fly rods also and the 4wt gets the most use for trout in general. I never use my 3wt anymore.
I sent one back that stopped ranging correctly a few days before a season and they gave me a 1500 I think (not home to check). This year I had trouble ranging a large flat rock face at less than 400 yards in light snow. Could be the conditions but I plan to upgrade before the fall.
The dead sled is more practical and can be used over leaves and grass. A tarp would only work on snow with little to no obstacles. I’ve used the dead sled to drag out the four quarters of cow elk after I backpacked it out of the basin. The remaining mile or so was downhill on snow. I’ve used...
That shot placement is the goal but it doesn’t always play out that way. It’s accurate and kills if that’s what you’re looking for. If you have a history of always placing your shot behind the front shoulder, lead fragments in the meat shouldn’t be an issue.
I’ve killed two mule deer and a whitetail with them. No complaints but I put one in the neck (md) and the other in the lower part of the front shoulder (wt) hitting bone on both, and there were definitely lead/copper fragments to deal with in surrounding meat. Better shot placement might...
I always have one of these on my pack to put my sunglasses in before sunup, when it’s cloudy, or extended glassing

I use a small and medium hip belt pocket on my kifaru but I’ll use the large to hold my...
I highly recommend getting a bathroom pop up tent, digging a reasonably deep hole, and just buying one of the foldable bathroom chairs. I do this anytime I’m going to base camp in an area for more than a few days, and I’m one guy. I can’t imagine crapping in a trash bag then packing...
