A lot of the heel slip comes from the stiffness of the boot and also the volume of the heel. Hoffman's uses a tapered nylon mid-sole that keeps the stiffness of the platform in most of the foot area but does have some flex in the front portion / ball of the foot area. This light flex allows...
Sorry for the late response. If you are doing a lot of tree hunting, I would look at the Mountaineer. It is the boot I use when in the stand for the late hunt. If shipping to Montana, there should be no Tax.
Our warmest pac is the Mountaineer boot. The biggest difference is the liner. The 9mm felt liner just retains heat much better than thinsulate will if you are not moving much. If you have ever worn a boot with thinsulate, you will notice it is a good insulator while being active but not so...
I weighed a pair of size 9 insulated explorers this morning - came in at 4.25 lbs. The weight will vary depending on what size boot you have. To me, this is an extremely light weight boot for an 8" insulated boot. Depending on what size our competitor is weighing the boot, there may be a...
Try the Hoffman's Mountaineer boot - this features a much better insulation than thinsulate. Our 9mm felt liner retains heat better, especially when stationary.
Try the Mountain boot by Hoffman's . We use a 9mm felt liner in the boot which will retain heat much better than any thinsulate material. If warmth is what you are after, these are the best.
I have had some feedback which has been great. I can tell you that I have worn the boots several times, in fact, wore them on a pheasant hunt this past weekend. I really like them. Very comfort and my feet have been warm. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.

Thank you for the note explaining the quality difference. Sorrels used to be good when they were made in Canada years ago but now imported from China I believe. Just not a good comparison at all.
Whites no longer makes pacs, in fact, they had to many issues and now sell our pacs. I would look at the Hoffman pro-series. This will run a bit narrower and is simply the best rubber bottom on the market.
