Even if I went 1x I'd go prism. Etched reticle. Adjustable diopter. Can focus for my old eyes, and still have a reticle to shoot with if the battery craps out while hunting.
Man, I can't wait for the barrel to show up today. Have the Solo 300 actions been true to advertised weight?
I put a "real" trigger in, as I just couldn't do plastic. Front pin metal as well.
Just a heads up, camaralandNY has Sightron scopes on sale. I smoked a buck with my (heavy) 45/70 and it's held up to rain and hunting. 12.7oz.
Sightron 1.75-5x
I really like the PA 3x micro prism. I had mine on an AR I actually use/trained with, and it held up great. It got replaced on that AR by a Trijicon LPVO, since I was going to 500 at cola warrior and my eyes are old.
It's perfect for the hunting I'll do with my ULUL.
I use plan A. I already had a Griffin Optimus and got Griffins "long" plan A for my Polonium. I like it for my ARs, as it's great to move from my home defense AR pistol to other rifles quickly, but I mostly hunt direct thread using a Gemtech Tracker.
Alright, y'all are a bad influence. I started ordering parts even though I don't NEED a super light rifle. I'm interested to see how this goes. I've had good luck building my ARs I use in competition, so this shouldn't be difficult, just fun.
Does anyone have a direct comparison as to how much more one would weigh with a regular aluminum lower and parts kit including Larue MBT2S compared to one with a TN arms carbon fiber lower and a New Frontier poly LPK?
I'm looking at the Solo 300 upper, Shaw port-less barrel and a KAW PCC...
