    Neck shot ethics

You lose a lot less meat than hitting shoulder though. Distance matters. I have zero issues with taking a neck shot. I also shoot deer at under 50 yards. Me popping a buck in the neck with my 45/70 last week at 25 yards in the woods isn't even comparable to taking a 300+ yard neck shot in...

I don't know that you need the ADM, as it comes with several options. I just like that it's one piece, no separate riser attachments to get loose or have issues and it was available in the 1.93" height I wanted. I'd try the stock mount and use blue locktite before spending the cash on an...

    Best .223 bullet for deer

Speer Gold Dots shot well and worked well on deer out of my 9-twist AR.

Yeah, I never carried anything as light as these rifles in the corps. As for the mount not instilling confidence, I mean that specific mount that comes with the PA micro-prisms. If you have the money to burn, and your old eyes don't need the diopter, an ACOG is more better than the micro...

I wasn't a fan of the carry handle mount. Didn't instill confidence at all on an AR I played games with and beat on. right at 9oz with the ADM quick release (3x and mount) is where I'm staying. I may buy a lower height though depending on how it all works out with this build. I have the...

    Neck shot ethics

Hunting in the woods, we shoot deer at under 50 yards usually. My last two, my son's first this year, and my hunting buddy's deer this year were all neck shots. All bang-flop. Two with 45/70, one 30-30 and my son's was 6.5 Grendel. My son had no other shot, and had a steady rest and time...

I'm not gonna do that, but it's getting removed today. I feel like a dumbass for not even thinking about it when I assembled the lower, but I've done dozens of lowers for gas guns and none for straight pull, so that's my excuse.

So, I didn't have to install the bolt catch? 🙄 I didn't even think about it when assembling my lower.

I'm going to get this built as soon as the Solo 300 action is available and try it with my Gemtech Tracker. If it's right at 5 pounds suppressed, I think I'll just keep using what I've got. I have a heavier Griffin Optimus that I can throw on my single shot 30-30 so my son and I can both be...

What silencer are you guys using on these? I have a Gemtech Tracker that I just weighted at 11.1oz. the adapter to mount it on a 1/2"-28 barrel is 1.6oz, so 12.7 total. My Polonium (non k) is 13.5oz. It's gonna be interesting to see POI change with/without the can on such a light barrel.

    Ultralight Ultralight Rifles

That's good to know. I've used it for years to put bottle opener inserts into hockey pucks that I drill out with Forstner bits. It cures nice and tacky. I'm interested to see if there's any practical difference between the thicker webbing I had in my "rope drawer" and 550 cord with the middle...

I'm trying e6000 that ends up rubbery when cured on 550 and something a little wider to try with a boonie packer sling I already had.

OCL Polonium K or Regular Polonium insight

People commented on how "nice" my regular (non k) Polonium sounded on my 12.5" AR, and it doesn't seem too long on my 16" AR.

The AAC ammo has impressed me. I use the 77g OTM in competition to 500 out of my Geissele with good results. That said, I'm gonna be loading for mine. I have a ton of primed 223 brass from my High-power days that I need to use.

3x on my ADM mount. I like the ADM as it's one piece and less likely to have impact issues.

It comes with a mount. I replaced mine with a quick detach from ADM though. ADM mini ACOG mount I went 1.93" so I can shoot from prone or weird positions with an AR.

Any extraction issues with it? I'll likely just fling 77g .223 at deer though, since it's legal and my Wylde Shaw just showed up.
