My team has killed about 20 big game animals since we started this journey. Lost the first archery deer I ever shot at and it has crippled my ability to shoot at deer with a bow.
Found it the next spring and it is hanging in my garage.
Other than that they have all come home.
I have been archery hunting for years. Never kill squat. I have been very close to a whole bunch of deer, including some very nice bucks.
IDK. Great at finding deer. Excellent at stalking. But something always seems to happen to screw it up at the end.
Have a pile of kills around 300 yards...
Floor nursing rotated day and night 12 hour shifts. Tried everything to sleep and it threw off my rhythm so bad life was starting to suck.
There were other things going on but I'm convinced the sleep issue was a huge contributor to depression creeping in.
Switched to an OR position with plenty...
Still here. Still sober.
We are talking about retiring early, something that never would have happened if I was still using. Well, unless I was living on the street, then maybe.
Keep at it folks. If you need this you know it.
I have one hunting rifle. Well, and a muzzleloader, so two rifles.
I have other rifles, but these are all I hunt with.
Well, I guess I do have a backup rifle I have killed deer with, but I don't really hunt with it most of the time. Ya, and I guess I do have twin muzzleloaders because you...
Could it be? 6X, trimmed down elevation turret, capped windage, simplified reticle?
I have my doubts but maybe they paid attention.
ETA: I have no idea why I do this to myself, just a dreamer I guess.
I have a custom trigger in my competition gun that has ran great for a coue thousand rounds or so, I don't keep track, but my carry pistols are all factory. It's not that bad and can actually be perfectly fine with practice.
I have a metal sawhorse with an 8" plate chained beneath it.
Works great but a hassle to carry. Need to figure out a strap for the steel when transporting.
