    @Marbles who did those?

30-30 Copper ammo (Barnes) penciled through Whitetail Buck this morning...thoughts?

@polishmanmike did you recover any petals inside the lungs or open them up to see what damage there was? At 30yds, it might be possible that you were moving fast enough for that bullet to open up fully and shear, with just a shank exiting.

    Sharpening Knives in the Field

Kershaw has theirs stated to be 62+ as well. https://kershaw.kaiusa.com/bel-air.html Same with Hogue https://www.hogueinc.com/deka-manual-folder-3-25-clip-point-blade-stone-tumbled-blue-polymer-frame I wonder if they are treating their own steel, or if there's two treating recipes at the heat...

    Day 6 dragonfly

For some of the orange askers, you could Crayola the scales orange and they'd leave you a review that they are easy to see and taste great.

    Kuiu bird vest fall 2024

The brown mutt got her first wild bird; she's a week shy of a year. I stashed the med kit on the pals webbing inside the bag, and put some extra water bottles on the opposite outside.

Maven CRS 3 Newest New model.

Here's what I saw with the drop tests. It should be self explanatory with the notes on the paper. As I said before, this is with the new Warnes Hyperlite rings. I have stripped out multiple sets of the 34mm variety. I also didn't make any witness marks on the ring scope juncture; I'm 60/40 on...

    2025 Hoyt’s

@KickinNDishin sent a query over to @robby denning to see if she could review either of the short draw bows. She like my RX8 enough last year to hunt with it and is curious if there's a genuine short draw improvement.

Oregon hunting guide killed by accidental discharge

I'm on a gun club board and there was a negligent discharge resulting in injury during a "church security team" training about a month and a half ago. The trainer has many credentials from an organization that provides them based on payment rather than merit. He is also a few decades older...

    Let them grow?

Yeah, you know I was a genius even before middle school. Do you think the Estes park gene pool still carries strong traits of weary elk? Or when folks complain that wolves were taken from packs that prey on livestock and put in CO the same concept applies. I think when you mix genetics that...

    Let them grow?

You don't think animals have tendencies and patterns? My wild guess is that young animals learn from older animals AND their genetic makeup tells them how to live their life. That leads me to believe that if a buck and some does survive long enough hanging out next to the road and create off...

Boots: light and fast or heavy and bomb proof?

The Hoffman's are pac boots and very very roomy. When it's rifle season they are an easy choice for sitting to glass and are more than capable of packing meat or hiking when glassing turns to killing or hiking to glass is needed. The Alverstones are very athletic and wear more like a low top...

    Let them grow?

You have a good hunt, in your way, and don't worry about what other people kill. I'm convinced that killing young animals makes more space for mature animals to become old. It also takes the dumb out of the herd when folks are happy, and able, to whack the young one standing next to the road.
