I skimmed through the thread and went and tested my Howa Mini action for the cycling/trigger issue.
No issue on mine. Trigger pulls exactly the same after Lee Harvey Oswalding it several times.
I agree, although I'm 44 and dip 1.5 cans a day and could stand to lose some weight. I've got bigger fish to fry in regards to my overall health profile than discharging a non braked firearm a couple times a year with no hearing protection.
Another annoyance that I didn't know until after owning a single can for a year is you really need to own multiple cans.
Swapping a single can between multiple rifles can be an issue if you have kids or are going to loan your rifle to a partner.
If I take my boys hunting, we are going to run...
I'm the OP and the content in this thread is hilarious but,
I'm going to the range this week to check zero on my 20" barrel Tikka UPR and 20" Tikka CTR. I've been shooting them with the can in the off season but they are lighter and more compact/maneuverable without the can. The weight of the...
I want a 6.5 PRC but every time I look at a ballistic table, I'm reminded a 6.5 CM is more than enough for whitetail deer in TN. Especially considering I want a light, basic rifle with a sporter barrel, the 6.5 CM recoil is much more manageable.
Ive got a couple Tikkas (CTR and UPR) that are over 11 lbs rigged out. I am going to get back into a more sporter type with aa simple T3X Lite with no brake or can. Just a good ole fashioned 24" stick barrel for hunting.
Anyone running a sporter style 6.5 PRC without a can or brake? I’m looking at getting a lightweight 6.5 PRC at 24” and running it without any muzzle devices. Kind of an old school style.
How’s the recoil?
I’m considering letting go a full Howa Mini 6mm ARC package including Howa Mini 22” sporter barrel barreled action, Bell&Carlson M40 stock, reloading dies, brass and loaded projectiles. With a can, this rifle is sub MOA with handloads. Right at 1K rounds down bore but well taken care of. Making...
At one point I had 2 KRG Bravos and eventually sold them. Sure they are awesome stocks, but for a hunting rifle I think the Tikka stocks are great. Yeah I’m weird like that.
I live in Tennessee so I only deal with rain and humidity. I’ve never had a blued barrel rifle rust. I wipe down my firearms with a silicone cloth after each hunt. If rifle sits in the rain, I pulls the barreled action from stock and apply Birchwood Casey Barricade.
My stainless Tikka UPR got...
