A huge benefit of using a chassis is the ability to customize the fit and feel of the rifle. Since the Mg Micro Lite uses an XLR Atom as its foundation, the components available seem endless. @XLR offered up a few parts that can make their standard chassis feel more streamlined and performance...
Agreed on the water resistance. It’s not bad but I’ve seen other fabrics work better. It’s generally not something really important for my use’s although if my single wall shelters were more snug and was always rubbing against condensation, I may feel differently.

The review has been posted. Give it a read at the link below to see my final thoughts on the Hyperdown Bag.

Thanks for asking what I should have had in the original post! [emoji106]
The rifle I’m testing is chambered in a 6.5 PRC. I’ve been shooting Hornady factory 143 ELD-X out of it. Velocity has been an average of 2715 fps. I’m happy with that.

In early 2024 Bergara released a Premier series rifle mounted in a XLR Atom chassis called the MG Micro Lite. It Is offered in a choice of 308 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 6.5 PRC. The barrel is an 18" Bergara made carbon Cure and it's threaded into one of their Premier actions. Bergara MG Micro Lite...
I have not and am a little disappointed. Maybe at some point Bergara will catch up with dealer demand and get a carbon version send out for a comparison review.
I did get an opportunity to pack the steel version around last week in the backcountry and my initial review still stands. It's a...
Since my initial post, I've spent a bunch of nights in the shelter. Most were in wet weather before the heat of July hit. The liner and vent has been great in dealing with condensation in the really damp conditions. The liner is simple and easy to clip into place and is really effective. I've...
If I am camping in an area where a food-conditioned bear is a possibility, I’ll hang it close by. If I’m off trail and in country rarely visited by humans my food is usually in my tent.
This is for lower 48 black and grizzly habitat.

I've had the chance to play around with the Peax bag somewhat before the launch but have not had both in my hands at the same time. The good news is @mtwarden should have the new Sitka bag to compare to the Peax bag in his possession. I'm looking forward to hearing what he has to say, although...
The shell fabric is a tight weave and very smooth. I've not tested it for water resistance but in use last fall it didn't wet out when brushed against the condensation in the single wall shelters I used. I'll do a little test for the review to see how well it holds up to light amounts of water.
Good questions.
The zipper functions well as there is stiffening tape added to the interior baffle to reduce snags. Its not as robust or stiff as what is in a Western Mountaineering bag (I don't have any experience with Feathered Friends) but is very easy to operate and has not snagged in use...
Here is the bag stuffed in an 8 liter Granite Gear compression sack with a 1 liter Nalgene for scale.
And here it is fully compressed into a what I'm guessing is around a 3 liter ball of down.
Sitka has launched their warmest and lightest sleeping bag with the HyperDown bag. It is comfort rated at 15 degrees, uses 900 fill power Allied Down with a treatment that is extremely water resistant, and tips the scale at 2 pounds. Very impressive specs!
Expect a full written review soon as...
Standby, as Bergara is sending a carbon barreled version for a review. I have not received it yet but am expecting a test rifle soon. I'll start a thread once I get it in my hands.
I have started testing and will eventually a write review of the newer Selway six person tent from Argali. Argali Selway
