I think enough of us videoed and posted some pretty brutal (overly hard surfaces) drop tests on the Maven that it’s hard to disregard. Now how many people actually watched those, probably like 5…
More or less. I like the ergos of the Bravo, personally would like some additional weight for the 7PRC over OEM (prob even more than the Echo), I have a number of Tikka magnum magazines, it’s $300. Not sure if the lack of a flat rear will bother me or not, but willing to try it out.
The 7PRC...
Agree, I used a few spacers on the Bravo I have, but that was more a function of raising the butt pad above bore. LOP wasn’t the thought, but I’ll need them for the Echo.
Just giving you crap. I had to swap some rings and decided to pick up the short bolt handle to try.
Only 50 rounds or so with it. No stock (Rokstock) contact, but for me it requires the “crap claw” grip when manipulating bolt quickly. If you are inclined to use your middle finger as trigger...
Sent mine to them, sounds like it might be a year before I have it back and am able to comment further. Qouted $185 a ft to take from field skinned to finished, local guy was $250 ft (or more).
Used a cheap Morakniv last year (4 elk and a domestic pig) and was more than pleased with it, it was/is preferred over a nice custom tool steel knife/outdoor edge replaceable/ SV30 Bugout/ multiple different buck knives/etc that I've used in the past. I did carry and use a 1.5 oz fine grit stone...
Was thinking that ad was too good to be true. A local GS had a used Tikka 30-06 (blued) for $450 this am, I'm plum on Tikka actions for the moment and happy to point you to them.
I’d add the 165 TMK/168elm/eldx. They seems to shoot well out out the rifles I’ve tried them in. Just say NO to copper, small wound channels and often difficult to get to shoot well.
If you range animals for shots yes I would. I use 10x binos in timber, but every thing is a compromise. It cuts a lot of time off of the shot process, plus you said bears at longer distance.
Put ranging Binos as 1st priority, they are a game changer. Geovid R ranging binoculars are a good option at around $1200. Find used pair of Meoptas 15x and still it you price mark.
I’ve been trying to educate @COparkswildlife on instagram on their misguided push to encourage copper bullets. This thread has some great reference material
