Thanks for the advice, I have been hunting in Idaho for a few years but always went straight to where I plan to hunt. The limiting factor is having to pick up the items you can’t fly with (stove fuel, lighters, etc) and I doubt I can find those items landing at midnight. Gonna have to camp and...
I’m taking a red eye into Boise this fall and was looking for a close place to camp since I’ll be running on fumes. I see BLM land in the around but I was wondering if anyone knows an area where they have personally camped. Preferably somewhere I won’t get shanked! Thanks!
I can share my experience with the slick bag. I had the wide 20 degree and it was awesome. I have used it down to 12 degrees and had no issues. I guess it’s all relative but to me even though other bags are lighter it’s still pretty light for the warmth it provides. It’s a great bag and I...
One specific to mule deer, when you go out for your first hunt and you are looking through your binos, you will be shocked at how small the deer look at a distance. I’m sure I looked right over tons of deer before I figured this out. Think of it as if you are looking for an ant on the hillside.
Second all the @pods8 comments. I bought a nalgene holder for my exo from him and it works great! Not that it should matter…..but it looks friggin sweet too 😂. @pods8 hope all is well!
Thanks for the advice. Cut it down this morning and it fits him great. We will go put a few rounds through it this afternoon. Youth turkey season will be a blast!
I won a Steven’s 301 .410 in a raffle and planned to buy a youth stock for my son. After some research I see replacement parts in general are hard to find for these shotguns. Thinking of cutting down the stock so my boy is able to shoot it. Anyone have any tips or advice on not screwing this up?
I’m sure there are a lot of good options but what I use is an Indian Creek. I killed a Turkey at 55 yards stone dead last year with a 20 gauge and federal TSS.
I would recommend a stove that has a pressure regulator for cold temps. I have a Jetboil Zip and this fall temps dropped enough to where the stove wouldnt function. I have used an MSR Reactor and a Jetboil Minimo and liked both.
I agree, honestly my experience with a stove is you light it, the tent goes to 200 degrees then 30 min later it’s at whatever the ambient temp is at the time. I end up sweating which is worse than never running the stove at all. Never had much luck with drying out gear either. I was running a...
It’s a great point, I guess to me I wasn’t equating “under the radar” with cheap necessarily. Just something that might not be getting a lot of attention from influencers or ads
Have you used this tent in the snow? I ran into an issue with my current tent under snow conditions which is why I’m in the market for a four season now.
