    If you want a blue marlin then I would suggest going to the Outer Banks, NC. Terrific fishing there for all billfish, tuna, dolphin, wahoo. Some of the best captains & mates in the world fish out of Oregon Inlet, NC.

    Elk or Deer?

    Elk for me. For someone like me who is from the east coast, hunting elk is like taking the best parts of turkey hunting and the best parts of deer hunting and combining them together. Plus elk eat better than deer IMO. The vocalization makes elk hunting superior.

    F-150. Excellent truck with the EcoBoost. Plenty of power and decent gas mileage. I owned 3 GM trucks previously and am on my second Ford.

    I would go with the Franchi, M2 or Montefeltro. I bought my son a Franchi Compact and now he has outgrown it but I was able to order a full size stock and now I am going to use it as a turkey gun. It is ultralight and a bad little gun. I would be wary of a Turkish copy myself.

    In my part of Virginia, it's peanuts and country ham. Collard greens and fresh seafood are popular as well. All good stuff. We import our bourbon from Kentucky.

    I find it extremely odd that shed hunting is regulated at all in the first place on public ground. Why in the world would any state be involved or try to license this? I may be missing something but this doesn't make sense.

    I don't have one but my buddy does and he loves it. It seems like Sitka's version of Kuiu's Kenai which I have and love. Both are very lightweight, extremely comfortable and warm for their weight.

    I would pick archery, especially since you have already gone during rifle season. There is nothing like hunting elk with a bow during September. And having the hunt on private land where there is little or no pressure is a no brainer IMO.
