@Formidilosus Did you notice that the bolt was very tight when first installed? I just got my Speed SPR in 6.5 PRC and have put 50 rounds through it so far. The bolt was difficult to install but is slowly getting easier to work. This is my first bolt gun so I wasn't sure if that was normal.
After hanging out here on the slide for a little while, I realized quickly that sheep hunts, african hunts, european hunts, middle eastern hunts, moose hunts, grizzly hunts, or generally ANY guided hunt was out of my price range :ROFLMAO:
I would recommend a hang on and sticks or a saddle and sticks for a newbie. I started with a climber and hated it. I feel safer now in a saddle than anything. Sticks are super easy to set up and use with a little practice. A saddle is a longer learning curve but you can cut more weight and bulk...
I’ve been eyeing it as well. Pretty significant cost savings compared to black hills. The little bit of talk I’ve seen about it so far was that it did not group as well as black hills.
I am considering putting a red dot on my Smith and Wesson M&P 22 when I suppress it. I've been looking at a few of the options (Burris FF 3 and Holosun mostly) and have also thought about throwing a red dot on my turkey shotgun after many of my hunting buddies have swapped over with great...
For those of us considering picking up one of these, what are your thoughts? I’m waiting on the speed SPR model in 7PRC to arrive which is a 20” barrel and will be suppressed. The long range performance is impressive but that 12/20 is worrisome to say the least.
Yeah we’ll see what happens. I tried to call the NFA division and they said they couldn’t help. I’m not sure if it will affect anything when I re-submit in a week.
Applied for another one a week ago. Accidentally checked the box yes on the question “Have you ever been dishonorably discharged from the military?” Myself and the LGS reviewed the application and neither of us caught it before we sent it off.
I don’t sleep in the bed of mine (5ft) but here is a hearty vote for the Tacoma. I’ve taken it from east to west hunting and it’s always gotten me where I was going and never left me stranded. I can imagine a 6 ft bed with a camper shell would be a pretty slick setup though.
