Having spent plenty of time myself in just a bag and bivy like you in the military, I would highly recommend a light weight bivy (like borah gear) and a relatively large tarp or tipi tent. Far more comfortable and spacious, and not much if any heavier in your pack. Rely on the tarp to keep you...
SOLD - Easton Axis 5mm 260 spine. All arrows are cut to 30 1/4" carbon to carbon. I have 8 with no inserts and no vanes installed. I have 7 with 50 gr brass HIT 5" wraps and three AAE Max Stealth Vanes.

$63 for the fletched arrows
+1 for the exo, but like WRM said. Think of it like boot. Everybody is a little different and every pack will fit different. Try a few if you can and keep whatever works best for you.
I had great results on a bull years ago with an Ulmer Edge (predecessor to the SEVR). Good blood trail, quick kill. As you said, certainly drawbacks, but a well placed shot will get the job done with a SEVR.
I had an earlier generation of the same pack. It’s a great pack if your going light on gear and don’t have a real long/heavy pack out. I liked it for day trips, but for that price I think you can find a pack that would carry meat better and be just as versatile for whatever you’re doing. JMO.
I felt the same after I got mine installed, but after shooting with some other people no one else could hear what I was hearing. I decided it wasn’t loud enough to matter.

Thanks.
My old jaw-style release failed to open with a bull in range on day one with an archery bull tag...threw that thing out immediately and bought a new release.
I shot the Ulmer Edge for a while and had no issues on a few animals, in fact contrary to other statements in here, the best blood trail I had was a quartering away bull. I'm probably picking up some SEVRs for next year.
All I can really offer is that shot placement and selection is far more...
I have a Matthews SQ2 I bought used 13 years ago...tough as nails.
Last season I got back from a hunt and put the bow on the roof of my truck, forgot about it and drove off...went back and found it in the ditch with nothing broken but the quiver mount.
Pulled out the target and the thing was...
