Carbon fiber stocks - DIY tinkering

Really nice work on all your iterations. It doesn't seem like you're having any strength issues but if they behave funny under stresses in different directions I'd second what @IdahoFF suggested and say to orient your layup to act (near) isotropic: 0/90 | +/-45 | 0/90 | +/-45 | 0/90. Forgive me...

    Diy Magview Spotting scope adapter!

Can't bring myself to spend the coin on the magview but I do have a 3D printer, so thanks for the inspiration! Can't bring myself to spend the coin on the magview but I do have a 3D printer, so thanks for the inspiration!

    Painting a stock

Some fine looking paint jobs on here. Really digging the sponge paint jobs and looking at doing one on my new carbon stock while leaving a good bit of the carbon exposed so I can still nerd out on it. Should prob try it out on my plastic stock 10/22 first though.

    Simple cooler upgrades

Also for any of you fellers that have tried the reflectix cover on the outside of the cooler, how well does it work for you and how well does it hold up? My coolers get kinda beat up in the back of my truck so I'd imagine that cover would get thrashed pretty quick.

    6.5 PRC

Recently got my 6.5 prc put together and broken in. Been running 147 eldm factory ammo and was thinking of running them for both deer and elk as well. Anyone have a bad experience running this round on those animals? Seems like it should work pretty well and a number of folks have said as much.

    Barrel length question 6.5 PRC

That’s better than I thought, thanks! That makes it way more reasonable to build a 20” to put a can on down the road

    Barrel length question 6.5 PRC

Currently building a 24” but does anybody have data on how much velocity you actually lose in dropping to 22”, 20”, 18” etc with good factory ammo?

    6.5 PRC

Great info in here, thanks to all who have contributed. Coming from a 30-06 I was struggling to decide between 6.5 and 7 PRC for my next rifle and this has reassured me that 6.5 can get the job done.
