Approval by legislature to a change that is initiated by the commission is not something that bothers me. It's when that process is flipped that is the problem.
It would be a lie to say I am not critical of some decisions of the commission, but I wholeheartedly believe they are MUCH more...
I wouldn't call this mouse untrapable, but it was July with no open hunting seasons when my boy came running in the house telling me he spotted a mouse in the garage. We grabbed his Red Ryder and setup on a good vantage point (behind my four wheeler) about 4 yards away from where he had seen the...
I agree with absolutely everything except one statement. Please please PLEASE only 'pester' the commission. We do not need the know-nothing legislators to be trying to be forcing the hands of the commission. Those morons introduce asinine bills every year that prove they know nothing about...
Come up to North Idaho and check out our 'closed to motorized vehicle' roads. I assure you that assholes are everywhere that don't care about rules or laws.
Single bevel left 125 grain in Idaho on whitetail, elk and pronghorn...give us some details on those new vanes! I have been waiting since the Phelps podcast but have got no information leaks.
As hard as I am on things I do like their warranty and have used it a few times for issues that were not related to the quality of the glass. I only use their spotting scopes and binos though so no comment on the riflescopes.
Heard on Phelps podcast the Iron Will is coming out with some new vanes that stabilize as well as the hybrid hunters but are quieter than the max stealths. After listening to the podcast, I am not as convinced as I used to be that vane noise plays a huge role, however I will always think that...
I don't ever plan on moving out of state, but if I do the first thing I will buy is a lifetime license. Penciling out the math at the age I am now it just doesn't quite make sense. Both my kids are holders of lifetime hunting/fishing licenses though as they are quite a bit cheaper at 0-2 years...
As a lifelong Idaho resident the idea of not having a deer and elk tag every year is mind blowing. I too have been known to complain about Idaho (no)Fish and Game, admittedly mostly on the gross ineptitude of managing our anadromous fish, but sometimes will complain about game species as well...
No experience hunting goats, but I have received my share of unsuccessful emails from IDFG. Without giving up unit specific details (inevitability it will be where I put in and god knows I don't want to have reduced odds), please update on the hunt/experience later this fall!
Never sat water but spot and stalk goat hunting has got to me one of my favorite hunts of the year. Extremely frustrating until you learn how to do it but once you do you'll be absolutely hooked. Only tip I have is only stalk the goats that can't see you until you are within your comfortable...
Own a pair of the Valdres and love them. Hoping that the Valdres II is not a repeat of the poooooop Lapponia II, cuz man they duped me with the marketing on those boots. Best bet would just to be buy a pair of the original Valdres
Interesting, I brought up a sponsor that supports the Muley Freak poachers on a thread and that sucker was locked asap. Maybe there are levels to the sponsorships and FL & Mtntough don't purchase the premium, no criticism version.
I honestly don't even like bashing on FL. Everyone I have met or...
Bold move to criticize a sponsor of this website. I don't see this thread being up long. That being said, I have to agree. I have a closet full of FL gear and have seen every meateater episode. I have to seen the quality of both go down, culminating with the recent release of synthetic base...
Could be this week. No suspense for me as I already struck out on sheep so good luck to all the others out there. Preferably anyone who won't pick up their tag in time so I can get back in on the 2nd draw.
I shot the ELD-M, ELD-X, LRX, CX, and E-Tip and the best groups were:
1. ELD-M by quite a ways
2. LRX
3. All other 3 were similar
I'm hunting with the ELD-M this year.
I don't 'need' more iron wills is what my wife would say. However if I added 3 more to the stable it would be what I already have:
SB125 left and I would use them for elk, whitetail and pronghorn.
That setup got me my largest bull to date last year, lodging in the humerus on the exit side...
