Maven makes some nice stuff and the have a demo program.
Another option to consider is looking at demo/used/open box top tier optics from one of the reputable dealers (Outdoorsman’s, Rent guns & Gear, Cameraland NY). For not much more than $1500 you might find one of the big 3 if you’re...
Used, but I can’t find any serious stains or wear. Small belt. The utility pouch and water bottle pouch are as new I almost never used them as I had a 500D organizer pouch I used instead.

I’ve loaded a boatload of pistol ammo on the Dillon 550. While you can load rifle on it I don’t think it would be up to magnum rifle full length resizing (which you’d likely want to do for hunting ammo). If it were me, I’d be more inclined to either get a turret press or a nice single stage...
As others have said, yes you can. However I’d suggest checking with the guide as it may be that you would check it with the airline. This is also perfectly legal and common. Lots of info out there on how to do it and it’s not a big deal. I’d be a little nervous mailing myself a rifle to...
I quit using them for a few years when the marketing hype got to be too much. I’ve recently started buying again, mostly during sales. I like the hydrate electrolyte mix and the protein bar meal replacements. I use both for quick grab and goes or for weekend trips not every day use. Their...
Couple years ago when I looked into it there was a study done and as I recall the Kirkland brand was one of the top ranked across availability of the contents, cost and what actual vitamins/minerals were in it.
Shoot competition. Local target leauge nights, weekend 3D shoots, tournaments anything that puts you in front of people you don’t know and situations you aren’t familiar with.
Problem - target panic. Solution - Joel Turner Shot IQ
It’s pretty common in archery, and while you might be the exception that can beat it yourself by doing some of the things above the fast track is to invest some time and money with a good coach.
7mm-08 it’s a decent mix of energy down range with moderate recoil. My issue with little bullets pushed fast is the bloodshot loss. I’d rather use a more traditionally constructed bullet pushed to more moderate velocities and(potentially) lose less meat. YMMV.
You might want a verifier but not a clarifier. See attached.

For hunting they can be a pain as any moisture or dust gets on them. A camera puffer or q-tip becomes a must. Smaller pins, a shade, correction for astigmatism and learning to work with it are all also options.

Best advice I can offer is find a local club or shop that’s having shoots and go. Your current equipment will fit a class. Shoot a few matches, chat up the locals. Usually folks are very helpful. You can usually find equipment used, tie into the culture and that a good way to do that. Start...
Awesome stuff!
A full Ironman has always been on my bucket list. At 55 I don’t know if I’ll get there but I’m doing the Oregon 70.3 this summer.
To keep me motivated and as a warmup I’m doing the Oregon triple crown gravel series.
In the past I’ve done the Portland marathons once and the...
Boots are a very personal choice and what works for one person doesn’t for another.
I’ve never done a TAC, but have done several NW Mountain challenges which I think are similar. I don’t think you’ll need anything crazy for a boot, any good one will do.
Crispi makes good boots, and has a...
In addition to helping keep moisture off your pants and out of your boots, snow from going up your pant legs - here in the jungles of western Washington it keeps brush and other crap from going up your pant legs and tripping you, protects your lower legs from sticker briars and on and on. I...
I don’t have specific data, too many variables to know. One recommendation, short of going to a shop would be to watch john Dudley’s recent video called going long on his nock on you tube video. Should be info there that might help.
Just finished EP5 - Barefoot shoes for hunting. Interesting discussion and something I’ve been curious about for awhile. For anyone that’s tried it, what are some available shoes you’d recxomend trying for moving towards a true barefoot shoe? The episode brushed past a couple but I’m guessing...
